Island Food Hop Tour - 15th July 2023
July 15th 2023
If the weather behaves it'll be the island food hop tour;
Breakfast - Brownsea Island
Lunch - Alderney
Afternoon Tea - Portland
Departing Ice cream - Some where in Poole
Save the date, watch the weather and cross those fingers!!
Plan B will be a Solent based version of the same thing, three meals, three locations, unless the weather is really bad and I'll be on Poole Quay in the Spoons 🙂

Still planing on this one?
Andy & I are tempted to join, where are you launching from?
Half tempted to look for some over night accommodation and come back the next day though.

We are indeed - it may well lose the Portland stop to give more time on teh island.
Next on my list of things to look at - just need an hours peace.
If you get there first please do shout
I usually drop into the marina overnight, plan to go up early doors Friday for a play day then too.

Will likely drive down on Thursday after work and join you for a trip on the Friday too.
The only marina I know in Poole is the one full of orange boats as happy to follow your lead.
Wonder if we can coax Trev out for dinner on Friday if he isn't boating with us.

I've not planned that far ahead yet, but I'll let you know nearer the time!

Weather permitting, I plan to run up to Portland Marina on the Friday and hopefully meet up with you on your way past as you head for Alderney.
You might want to check out the entry regs for the Channel Islands, one or two ribs arriving probably won’t attract much attention, but if we turn up mob handed [pasty run!] things might be different. Obsidian might be able to offer an opinion on things as I believe he’s from that part of the world.
Also as regards insurance, be aware that the Channel Islands aren’t considered part of the British isles. They’re actually in Continental waters, so check your insurance covers you. Most companies will provide limited time coverage for a small fee, especially if you tell them your travelling in company.

Well it was a good plan - but with a F8 forecast for Saturday we're going to be lucky to get afloat in Poole Bay, let alone cross the Channel.
This trip will happen, just not this weekend.
