I cant remember who I booked with but, I do remember that they said the it had to be done during 9 to 5 wk days as the weekend staff and the night staff didnt have the ok to do a deal.

EG reservation manager 9 to 5pm weekdays

I think the £ 84 double includes breakfast? The single was cheaper exactly as posted but with a bigger breakfast cost.

Seeing as most people are now going camping or going to a different hotel then maybe there not too botherd at holding the discount deal for singles any more as I and them, expected a bigger take up.Or maybe they sold them all ?

I have a double still booked which I will/may be canceling when I get back next weekend.If you havnt sorted it by then you can have our double,or I will cancel it on monday the 23rd.Unless DM wants it as he asked me to book provisionaly for him and kieth so he has first option on the double.

If we are honest the take up wasnt that good when the deal was originaly posted anyway so I can understand if they are not very exited at the uptake.

I will speak to them personaly on my return from holiday.

If you are taking your RIB on the IOM cruise on 28/29 can you post on this thread the fuel type and quantity you are likely to need at Douglas. Whitingiom will then try to arrange for the right amount and types to be available.
I will need ~80ltr unleaded.

Right, seems I've just been talked into going. Had I read this thread before and noticed Keith was coming along, I'd have jumped at the chance a lot sooner! A chance to meet the man behind the Orkney Challenge? Before he becomes famous? I'll take a bit of that thank you.

But I warn you Keith, make sure the rest of us get some bacon butties, I won't stand for you running a monopoly on bacon consumption!

About the same amount 80L u/l for me I expect at top side-hope it may only be 60L but will no doubt be carrying the proverbial shedloads!
Do we know what the security situation is where we are mooring re petrol cans and gear left aboard (like my built in radio if the man from Icom has sorted it by then!)?
Lovely weekend just gone - a couple of days of that would be nice!

Three basking sharks spotted in Port Erin Bay last Thursday & Friday (not by us unfortunately).

We were there on Saturday and there were several seals around but no triangular fins.

Looking forward to meeting up with you guys.

The offer of beer & food on the Friday night still stands if anyone makes it early.

Hi folks

I could use about 60L of red diesel, but If I am the only one wanting diesel could do the run both ways without refueling in the IOM.

Also after talking to Dave we plan to go stright from Fleetwood, leaving about 10.00, could maybe meet up close to the IOM but didnt see much point in coming all the way down to Conway then back up.

As far as security, likewise Ian if needed I would sleep aboard.
Rather do that then find console vents where my instruments used to be

Douglas HM has two security cameras scanning the pontoon where we will raft up. This is relayed back to control 24hrs/day.
That'll do for me, looks like I'll get grass to sleep on and not a deck!
Whitingiom, is there any chance, if required, of locking up some valuables etc at your house if you are close by? This would aleviate some peoples worries.

GG/DM, give us an ETA & waypoint offshore IOM to meet up.

Many posts ago, I noted that it's the Douglas Bay YC regatta on 28/9. This will limit my involvement on Saturday as we have races at 10am & 2pm

I will be around the YC on the Saturday night & Sunday morning, so I'm sure it will be possible to lock a few things away.

If you mean radios, GPS, fishfinders etc., I'm sure we could have a valuables bag which could go home with us.

I also have a friend with some step children over for the w/e who would love to go out on boats.

My 15 year old may well take my boat out with them on board if you decide to have a cruise around on Sat/Sun - I would be much happier if you guys would 'buddy' him? He does have a Level 2 and a bit of experience, but I suspect it would give him more confidence in company.

If any of you do decide on sleeping on the boats etc. I'm sure I can arrange for breakfast to be supplied.

If you have the lifejackets for them, I don't see this as a problem. Depends on ETD from Douglas. Will advise.

Right, just wondering what the situaiton is if I'm camping. Do I just turn up and pay em before I put my tent up or do I need to sort it out in advance?

As far as kit to take, safety kit wise I'm taking my drysuit (just incase), stab jacket + emergency inflation cylinder (again, the cylinder is just incase), possibly my Garmin eTrex. I'll also have my mobile with me, the number is 07740353908.

What's the plan of action for the weekend then? Random cruising around and hopefully enjoying the sun?

We were planning on dumping Crazyhorse in his SIB somewhere in the Irish Sea with a search for him and with someone hopefully finding him. Since his decision to visit cooler climes that weekend (Tenerife) we haven't really had any ideas put forward.
I fancy cruising round the Calf of Man and into Port Erin. A shark hunt following recent sightings in the area. A bit of snorkeling for the brave and then returning from there to our starting points.
Anyone got any other ideas? If so put them here for thought.

Camping is turn up, pay and pitch.

This weekend looks good, hope next one is likewise.
Anyone out in Cardigan Bay on Saturday???

Mad probably fits better actually. I'd use the drysuit for snorkelling but I'd never sink, so bloody cold wetsuit it is!

Anyone got two or three spare seats onboard? I have offered tubes but they were not much impressed with 60 mile each way on them. This is what happens when you flog your RIB two weeks before a trip!
Seriously though, Dave and Keith are after an armchair for the ride, can anyone assist.
I have talked Matt into coming as well but haven't told him there's only one seat on mine! I have now though.
So 3 seats required! Please post or PM if you've got space on yours.

If there's no seats going I'm more than happy to be seated on tubes, it's where I usually sit on a RIB anyway, and that's with poorly experienced maniac divers at the helm too!

Hi folks

Dave do you want to suggest a waypoint.

If we leave at 10.00 we normaly cruise as 20-25kts depending on weather, if its flat calm maybe 28-30kts.

Dont know what your crusing speed is, if you work out your speed taking in account ours and give a waypoint thats fine by be.

Also if we do go round the island then I will need fuel dispite my last post.
