Chartwork
Can anyone remind me who had the chart out for Cardiff for the Conwy to Pwllheli route! Or is that another story Keith?
Maybe you could slot it into the 'Spiderman' one!

I'm just glad he didn't have a camera handy when Ged pulled me onto The Full Morty, apparently I looked a bit rough.
Time to invest in a decent set of goggles I think, those mountain bike glasses were useless on Sunday.

You're all nutters.
Brill weekend. Wot a laugh. It was good to have the company of other boats for the inaugural run of the new boat. Thanks to Ian, Debs and Ged for their generous hospitality.
Looking forward to the next one.

This weekend
Weather looks good for Conwy - Douglas this weekend, light cloud, 10 knot wind and calm seas.
Point me in the right direction and I might make it!

No, we picked the right week, but wrong direction.
Next time Spiderman mentions Cardiff, we'll head for Douglas!

Brill weekend
Ian when you understand anything about forcasts and issue times for sea states around anglesey and the isle of man,you will realise we actualy had very good conditions for the Isle of man run over that weekend.
Remember I have been .
In the end we didnt go which was the best thing cos we all had a great weekend and hopefully learnt a bit .
One day we are going to have to go and I would suggest if we are lucy enough we will get the same conditions as last weekend,if not and you thought those were bad 30ft swells around Bardsey Sound, then you in for a real enlightning time.
Looking forward to it

Forecasting
Hell's Mouth get's its name for good reason, whatever height that swell was it was great fun riding it. Yes it was a great weekend and if you remember you and I were the only ones up for the crossing to Douglas. However I changed the route in light of more experienced ribsters than me being concerned over the weather forecasts, and safety came first. I was well enlightened on Sunday both at Hell's Mouth, Menai, Puffin Island and Conwy estuary. You were correct, can't wait to do it again.
We will do the IOM one day as Whitingiom has got to empty all those jerry cans somewhere!

It was great Ian had a super weekend.
Also Dave Manning was up for the crossing, but we did the best thing as we all had a fantastic safe weekend doing what we did.
It was also our first meet and the boats need a little sorting for the Ile of man when we eventualy decide to go as its a big leap from the straits for sure.
Thanks for all the organising realy enjoyed it.

Jerrycans
I didn't actually fill them with unleaded!
Sat/Sun does look reasonable for a crossing, although there might be a bit of a chop left from the North Easterly 5 that's currently expected to last until tomorrow night.
I'm sailing at Port St Mary this w/e - there'll be plenty of people at the Yacht Club there on Sat, Sun & Mon. It'll knock about 10 miles off the crossing as well.
Regards
Jon

IOM
Jon,
I can't go anywhere this weekend as Llynhome is going into hospital to have her steering sorted. We will plan a crossing to somewhere on the IOM in the future, daughter has never been and was dissapointed we called it off.
We saw Alan's Scorpion in Pwllheli Marina moored next to ours and realised then the passage was possible. However we had a great time anyway and with one new boat and one inexperienced crew on mine I think we made the right choice on Friday evening not to risk it. Especially with some of the weather that was forecast for Sunday.
Thanks again for your help in planning it all and see you in August in Conwy?
Ian

Conwy
It looks like la famille Whiting is heading for belle France in August so we are unlikely to make Conwy.
Hope to catch up with you guys somewhere in the future.
Unfortunately my son didn't win the IoM heat of the RYA rib challenge so I won't have an excuse to go to Southampton Boat Show!
