It's a shame for sure but not surprising, still on the plus side if you're thinking of a Scilly's trip then you could have put money on that the 19th would have been a perfect day for it, the day they were supposed to leave!

We'll make a call closer to the day, still planning on being in Mylor all week so will look to go the 17, 18th, 19th depending on best weather window.

Well, of all the people that were going or interested in going did anyone make it?
It would be interesting to hear what the failings were, mine was I sat on my thumb waiting for someone to organise the trip-pathetic really😄

Hey Sutty,
My intentions were honourable to go but I hardly made it out on the water this year. I managed a whole two days out on the water and I'm away again until Christmas. 🙈
My excuse is too much work and not enough play 😅
There's always next year lol

Still hoping to get out but the social secretary keeps filling the calendar up with other stuff limiting boating to single days out
Have a window in Sept and another in Oct so hope to get out depending on weather and other commitments of course

Hi
We tried, forecast was suitable, left Mylor at 10.30 and by 11.30 had given up as it was lumpy as a rocky road biscuit with big holes appearing as the wind built.
Ran into Porthleven for coffee and chips before a wet and soggy ride back.
British summer time at its best.............

That has been very much my experience of the last 2 months, come to think of it May was grim at times as well
I dont know how true it is, but was told that the forecast are poor because their are less commercial flights and they provide data to the computer models. Less data = less accuracy

We got as far as Wolf Rock and bailed back to Lands End. Was too lumpy for it to be enoyable for our 6 year old and I was struggling to keep the rib sitting steady at 20kts through the confused sea state and large swells. We had a great afternoon around lands end snorkelling with a large pod of Dolphins and seals and some productive spearfishing too plus saved a lot of fuel. Always next year!
