Lantic bay BBQ and overnight

After spending the day at Lantic bay last weekend we wished we had the tent and BBQ , its a great camp spot and quiet due to the hard walk down the cliff. and the water was as clear as Scilly . I forgot just how nice it was there .

The rocks on the edges are perfect for snorkeling or spear fishing Alice

The anchorage is pretty good as it gets deep quick and is quite sheltered .

No dates planned but maybe the next weekend the weather is good we could meet for an overnight beach BBQ . People could turn up anytime Saturday eve .

Loe is a good launch My end up to 2 1/2 hrs either side if HW

Spent some great days there last summer.
Launched at Penmarlam - upriver of Fowey, on the opposite bank. Good slipway there - access all tides and a walk-ashore pontoon.
Some folk were arriving at Lantic Bay by boat for an overnight party when we were there - made me quite envious!

There is nice campsite with a private slipway at Mixstow , is that penmarlem ??

Its a tidy place and a good slip but steep , you would need a winch or 4wd but easy launching and camping , much better than Pentewan I would say .

That's the one - we stayed in the campsite for a week - had a great time.
The set up there is a barrier on the road alongside the campsite, which you need a token from the campsite or £6.00 (2005) to get through (in only - free to go home!). The road down to the slipway is quite steep, but the slip itself isn't too bad. The slipway looks quite new, as does the pontoon, which is walk-ashore.
Just found a pic, to save me babbling on about it!

Thats the place , It seems to me a better place than Pentewan for launching etc and cheaper and less crowded . OK you don't have the beach outside your camp but a better one is just a short boat ride away.
