Littlehampton 2015
Anyone fancy a Littlehampton meet this year?
I'm up the river so my regular short jaunts will take me to down Arundel and beyond.
After reading about the 2005 Littlehampton weekend (which sounded like great fun) I wonder if some of the local crew, and even some of the not so local would be up for another?

Yep, sounds good.
The LHB web page has a description of how best to get up the river.

Yup I'd be up for this too.
When? and where would I launch from?
I'd be coming down from the Reading area BTW

Perhaps June sort of time?
There's a public slipway in Littlehampton.
According to the 2005 thread, the Marina also offered launch and recovery for £30 back then. They may well still be another option.
Home - Littlehampton HarbourLittlehampton Harbour gives some useful information.
I've never been boating down there so I'm relying on the locals a little too to give us some pointers.

FYI
Just up the River at Ford is a camp site by the 'Ship and Anchor' PH. Never stayed myself as I live nearby but it gets good reviews and there is a slipway at the site.
Reviews of Ship & Anchor Marina Camping Site , Arundel, West Sussex Campsite
May possibly be of interest for anyone coming a distance.

Some of the guys stayed there in 2005.
Back then they offered launch and recovery but access was limited by the tide.
They didn't have moorings available for visitors. They have a pontoon now so perhaps that's changed (although, I think they had it back then so I'm not sure why they couldn't offer mooring).
I'm always on a budget and with a 3.2m SIB it might be a good place for me and my crew to bunk if we make it a two day event.

Interesting idea and I would participate if there was a group coming from the Solent. Back in 2005 and earlier Phil Chitty and I organised a few such cruises . the weather unfortunately was not the best but a fleet of ribs did come from the Solent. It was great fun with one year a trip to Arundel and the other to Brighton

I thoroughly enjoyed reading through the 2005 thread.
I'm definitely at the smaller end of things compared to the size of some of the RIBs you guys have, but Littlehampton is just a short trip down the river from Pulborough for me so it definitely caught my interest.
Though, if we head out to Brighton again I reckon I'd look for PAX space with someone.
Not sure that my little 3.2 Avon and 18hp would cope if it's gets a bit hairy out there.

There is also a good write up with photos of the cruise in 2004. Brings back memories and interesting and sad as well how many people have moved on and we no longer see or hear of them on RiBNet
If you local guys want this to happen in 2015 then you have to organise it.

I'm certainly keen. I'm planning to head to Littlehampton as and when I can in the summer anyway so if we can tie in with something, that would be great.
But I am about as new to boating as you can get so I'd certainly appreciate the help of anyone more local with a better idea of the logistics of a RIB cruise.

Would it be possible for link to the old cruise to be posted on this thread?
