There's no guarantee that the inshore route will be calmer than the offshore route -- it can get fairly exciting just off Selsey Bill. The good thing is that it doesn't last for too long though!

I'm up early & worrying about this flamin cruise and I ask Paul what do we really need to study so we miss the big waves and sand bars and strolling seagulls and holes and rocks and stuff...
and he sez...'ah we'll just follow Pete7'
Sorted

Sorry guys but not channel 71 cos this belongs to the Littlehampton harbourmaster and we do not want to upset him
Lets say channel 73
I am suggesting we lunch at the Arun View pub. The pub is just after the bridge on the right hand side. There is a mooring pontoon and we have permission from the landlord to berth there. I will call him on my mobile so he can unlock the gate giving access to the the outside eating area.
Unfortunately not possible to make an outside reservation so if we arrive by 12:00 we should be able to occupy the tables
So best first head for the pub the refuelling can be done after lunch
Have a safe and enjoyable passage
Andre

Can we please have a show of hands who is going which way?
1) the short cut
2) via the Owers

Had a good day out today just a bit choppy with an Eastly wind if this keeps up you will still have a nice run with an even better on the way back
and by the way the Littlehampton landmark is a light blue gas tank not light green
Andre
DJL thanks for the kind words. What's stopping you joining the cruise

Andre, I favour the Mixon hole route rather than go all the way out. Will see if we can raise you on channel 73 when we reach the Mixon.
It should provide some chanllenging navigating and test everyones route planning and navigation that they are busy doing now.
Apparently the Richard and Louise have driven all the way down from Reading to Fareham just to check there answers with Kathleen and Paul.
Pete

Pete
In that case Phil and I will head for Bognor and monitor channel 73. I have the IC601 with the antenna on the A frame so I am sure will receive you.
Our ribs are on the water so we are not restricted to tide launch time
I would still like to know if anybody is still planning the Owers route
just to be on the safe side and not to leave any rib behind so it comes into Littlehampton on it's own
Andre
