Lively Lady homecoming, Solent - Saturday 5 July 2008
For the last 18 months Lively Lady, Sir Alec Rose’s historic yacht on which he made his solo circumnavigation, has once more been sailing around the globe. The project has honoured Sir Alec's wish that Lively Lady should be used to help disadvantaged Young Adults to put their lives back on track. Over the course of the voyage, the 36 Young Adults on the project have done just that.
Kevin Luter aka Aging Youth is organising a flotilla of boats to meet Lively Lady and welcome her home. As the person beind the whole project is Alan Priddy, it would be good to get a decent turn out of RIBs!
PM Kevin for more details, or see the Lively Lady web site www.livelylady.net
There are a couple of pdfs you can download an print for any suitable club or work noticeboard:

Lively Lady Homecoming, Solent - Saturday 5th July 2008
Hi All,
Sorry for not being around for a while, I have been kinda busy with Lively Lady.
As some of you know I am co-ordinating the flotilla to meet up with fellow Ribster Alan Priddy on board Lively Lady to welcome him back from his global voyage.
I have already recieved lots of pm's on this so hopefully we can make this a day for Ribnet to remember.
Please send PM or reply to let me know whether you intend being on the water that day.
Best wishes
Kevin

Are you going to have the 5.4 afloat for it? It'd be nice to see it out.

Hi Nos,
It is with regret that I no longer have Southcoast II, she is now in residence in Poole Harbour With a young family who hopefully will have the same amount of pleasure on her that we did,
Looking for something a little bit bigger for more waterbourne advenutres
See you on the 5th.
Regards
Kev
P.s. I will be on the Water on the Day but not in a Rib!!!

Weather looks interesting for Saturday. This came off Metcheck using "Solent" as the area. However using a Portsmouth postcode it only gives F5, so who knows what it's going to be like.

Just got back in off the water. Was very very choppy out there! Quite a few boats out seeing her in. There should be something on the news about it later; I had the BBC on board getting some footage.
Lots going on at Gunwharf this afternoon; worth coming down having a look if your not doing anything.

Livelylady returns
Chimet showed 30 knots and Bramblemet showed 35 knots of wind. Made for a good time on the RIB today, I have attached somes images, my god that is one small sailing boat to round the world in, there were some bigger ribs alongside at times!

Managed to get afloat in time and joined up with flotilla out between the Forts. Guess the weather kept a few ashore or in the harbour. Hopefully took some good phots, just need to download them at some point.
Good to see a bit of history in the making, must be a big pat on the back for all involved and a great experience for those that took part.
Later in the afternoon helped out the RIB that stopped of Southsea Castle, hope they sorted out their mechanical problem.
