Evening All,
Just re-confirming that we will be there next Saturday.
We will be leaving from the Camber, Portsmouth.
Being a bit of a newbie:-
Where is "old Harry" and very roughly how long will it take to get to this RV from Camber.

The Old Harry rocks are just on the southern end of Studland bay. I guess a bit over 30 miles from Camber.

It was the only way I could enjoy the scenery and shut the yakking up which was non stop from Lulworth! Worked a treat after the initial scream!

Once through solent between needles and hurst castle you have two choices straight across to old harry or slightly longer route along coast passed hengisbury head past southbourne past boscombe and bournmouth and sandbanks to entrance of poole harbour then turn left past shell bay and studland to old harry rocks.

It looks like a spring tide that day, with low water at 15:50m - 0.7m. Does anyone know what is the earliest time we could recover at Baiter? Is Avocet's 5:15 about right? It looks like the only 'all states of the tide' ramp in Poole is Cobbs Quay, but it looks pretty expensive :-(

Looking for some guidance here from more experienced as I will probably be the smallest (5M+75hp) have been vertical and its scary but never been round St Albans)
I've done it several times and I'm smaller than you

Hi -if work still permits I still want to make this one.

Who is launching from the Weymouth area ? I know where Bowleaze is, but have never launched from there. Is that the best location, or are there better sites in the area ( especially if we can help each other out... And i may well need all the help i can get..☺ )

Thanks, jAMES.

I think we may need to keep a close eye in the weather. Potential high winds and heavy rain. Hope not as I'm looking forward to the trip.

Went there today (Lulworth) chaps.... I can highly recommend launching at Kimmeridge.... infinitely much easier than baiters where I launched the day before, here's a couple of teaser photo's for you of Lulworth and one of Kimmeridge slipway.

Lulworth RIB raid 9th Aug

It's tidal at kimmeridge, it does dry out so beware, but it is a nice place, brings back fond memories of diving days

Yes biffer. ... going out was quite low, coming in was a doddle as it was not too soon after high tide and fairly calm so recovery was stress free.

Met office inshore has it F5-6 dropping to 3-4 for tomorrow. I do not fancy St Albans in a F6, so in two minds at the moment. Are others still going?

Kimmeridge sounds interesting but i guess the times would be similar to Lulworth? Times look very different time to Poole. Any idea what what the time around low water that it would not be possible to launch?

I'm not going to chance the weather/St Albans combo but will still launch Portland and go over if others are still going
