Can't make the curry, got people staying and I'm cooking

Will be on the water from about 12 until 4 before getting back but should be out again Sunday

Watched the fly past some years ago when a Spitfire, Hurricane and the Lancaster flew down Southampton Water. The best place to be was at the Brambles as the aircraft turned round at this point and flew back up Southampton water.

You lucky devil. My lads were out in ours over at Studland. I was working from home trying to earn enough to replace the fuel they burned. Where have I gone wrong!

Wasn't very pleasant in Poole today - 20+ kn of wind, and a very lumpy harbour. Was aiming to sail to Weymouth with a club rally, but everyone turned back as soon as they got to Old Harry!

The afternoon/early evening have been really sunny though, so at 17:30 I decided having been around the house all day it was time to launch my old TomKat RIB and give it a test, as it hasn't been in the water for 9+ months.

One lap between Parkstone Yacht Club and Salterns (all of about 400 metres!) was enough to prove the engine all worked fine, and by then I was soaked, so motored around the yacht club marina for a while before recovering back onto the trailer.

Yeah, it was blowing like a whatsname! Tested my prop but couldn't get above 42 kts in the 4' chop so I came in. Chris moody has been out tonight and it's flat calm now.

Going to Cowes for 1pm to meet Avocet tomorrow if you are about?

Took Heron the SR4 out for her maiden voyage. I have decided SR4's are great fun

Many thanks to whisper who helped me launch and recover, and took loads of pictures.

Went out today, met up with Landlord and got some pics of the awesome osprey!

Went to the fountain in cowes with mr and mrs Avoset for lunch and discovered the burritos and Mexican rice

It's still blowing hard here but at least it's warm (ish)

Off out again tomorrow
