Menai Strait June 5th
Likely be launching just before lunch at Beaumaris and heading towards Conwy for lunch and a pint, (high tide 1 ish) then a run down the Strait through the Swellies to Caernarfon for a late afternoon pint, before a run back through to the Gazelle, mooring up and spending the evening with Mrs Robinson!

Cheers, enjoy your trip. We're just out and about anyway, set it up for the season and have a shakedown.

Yes it is Gareth, outside the Anglesey arms, where the old boat cafe used to be

We launched from Ty Calch despite Chris's disbelief at 10.30am. I Had 2 novice mates with me so took them on a tour. Castle, plas newydd, bridges, swellies, Beaumaris. I lost count how many times my bow disappeared beneath huge waves, my offshore kit was tested to the limit by the worst conditions on the straits I've seen, we were drenched. A challenging fun day.

Menai Strait June 5th
Ha! Yep, the jetty in front of "The Anglesey". I was erm.... Thirsty!
About 1pm was the worst as the tide turned and drained out in to westerly wind. Really short sharp sea with wind over tide. Then the front passed about an hour after the forecast said at 2.30 and the wind dropped off, leaving clear blue sky drinking weather!!!
We launched at 1 instead of 11 as we knew better weather was coming. Still we splashed in with black sky and rain, Geckos on, and decided to run down to Chris's to find the better weather that was expected coming in from the west, which we found. then had a beer in Anglesey, a second at port Dinorwic, and ran right through to Puffin to see the seals, sunny all the way.
Not the worst I've seen Deekus ;-) but the waves were sharp for sure. Every few waves we had the prop out, which sounds great! ... But the landing can hurt with the trim wrong and you land stern first flat in to the front of the next wave.
