well i ended up being invited aboard bouncer (11m redbay stormforce cabin rib) for this one. we left holyhead around 11.30, got half way to the skerries and one of the turbo's suddenly started to sound like an air horn, a phone call to redbay resulted in us deciding to return to holyhead. i did however get the job of helming her back to the marina - one engine at half revs, the other at full throttle. john may be facing a repair bill, but i left with a smile on my face!
we then jumped in the car and reached moelfre just in time to catch the last 2 mins of the helicopter. we still had a great time there on shore, and my 7yo boy loved being in the d-class at the beach whilst the lifeboatmen had a water fight!
