Mont St. Michel - Sunday 13 June

I'll be going to Mont St. Michel this Sunday with a view to staying the day and coming back on the evening tide. I'll be leaving La Collette Marina at 06:00 if any one fancies joining me. I know Erin and Martini II have mentioned they'd like to come along. If you can't make it to Jersey we could rendezvous at sea 100 metres west of Tombelaine at 07:15 BST (waypoint: 48⁰ 39' 37.2"N, 1⁰ 30' 55.3"W).

Yes, we're both still keen I think. I'm out of action at the mo but a new fuel injector should be here tomorrow then I should be good to go.

Weather is currently F3-4 for the weekend but followed by F5-6 which may arrive early and spoil the plans. But all just guesswork at the mo, have to wait and see.

Sounds like fun, I am pretty sure I am too busy to join in this time around though.

Would dearly love to come, but will be otherwise engaged this Sunday. Will be helping taking the parents Channel Island 32 to Poole on Saturday. I'd rather be messing about at 30+ kts than 15, but it will be my maiden channel crossing, so not all a waste of time. If you do manage to tame the weather, have a great trip.

Erin, Malthouse: no problems, we can all go some other time. There are more high tides in July. I don't know if the weather will hold for the weekend actually.

No problem Matt; better safe than sorry - especially at MSM.

Well, I went on my own in then end and had a lovely day. It was a bit breezy in the evening on the way home, probably about F5/6. It took me two hours to travel from Mont St. Michel to the Demi des Pas; I did it in 58 minutes last year. Whilst at Mont St. Michel I hit a submerged rock in the Couesnon estuary. Ouch!! Bent prop and gearbox rebuild I'm afraid. Still, it was a nice day out. Next trip: any date between 12-16 July.

I'll come next time, but perhaps follow you at a distance

Sorry to hear that. Happened to me last year, but fortunately only minor damage to the prop, the gearbox was unharmed. We had a F5 wind against tide on our passage to Poole on Saturday, which was bad enough in a 6 tonne 32 foot motor boat, not sure I'd have fancied it in the rib.
