ps Just been watching a really good program on bbc1 History of Bangor, with some great shots around the Menia straits, well worth watching again on their iplayer if missed.

Not sure yet if we can make the pig roast, but will let you know soon, sounds tasty, infact you fella's got me feeling hungry now,

There is a sheltered bay opposite Chris's slip, this is used a lot by overnighters. The slip and rendevous point is in the background.

It is called abermenai point, gives good shelter but water runs fast unless you get right up into the bay, muddy bottom for anchoring, a better place would be to get into Port Dinorwic outer basin maybe

Cheers for the info lads, looks like a nice place to drop for the night, I noticed we've got neap tides for the big event, So I guess not all the banks will be exposed, however i'll certainly be keeping an eye on the sounder and plotter, hoping not to touch down unintentionally of cause,
Can't wait to get up there and discover the Menia,
only drove round the area few years ago by road, be nice to see from a different perspective.

Do you ever get up around Cardigan/Newquay anytime we often have a ride down there for the day from Aberdovey

Not on the water as yet only by road many times, but certainly hoping to cover more ground this year, and it would be great to meet up in Cardigan bay for a blast, we're hoping to try some fishing up there too.

Calm down Calm down HP, only to be expected... peeps put there names down with good intent and things do crop up unexpectedly. There will certainly be more ribs this year than last, so a positive result.

Indeed Captain.

Just booked our mooring to be laid, ordered a new aerial (snapped when my dad reversed it under a shelter ). Replacing console hinge which lost a pin and resealing the new elephant trunk collar (which now doesn't poke below the waterline).

Then it's anti foul and off for dewinterising ready for the season.

Think you'll find that's for servicing, not winterising.

Plus you paid the same in costs for servicing the opti on the raised purchase price. However getting it serviced means it's hooked up to a computer and readouts analysed, then the engine checked by a qualified engineer each year. Better IMHO.

You're both wrong better with an olde 2 stroke lump, well serviced! Gives you a good old grunt and shove and does not go into 'safe' mode just when you need it the most. Oh and the noise it just heaven
