Well done to all those making the trip. I'm off to the sauna now, not what I was hoping or expecting, my ambition was at least to try to helm the boat to Cherbourg; as that wasn't happening, the trip was doing nothing for me so I called Time on it, still well within the sight of land. I'll be back!

Choppy. In those photos? They don't do it justice I'm afraid. That looks like a very nice day with an F3. Cameras, they don't capture the seastate, do they?

We're all sitting safely in La Pizza in Cherbourg. Wine is flowing, deserts are ordered, having a pleasant evening.

Early start tomorrow

Rough crossing but not as bed as they suffered on Friday. Took three and a half hours from the Needles to Cherbourg. Maintained about 18kn but took a bit of a pounding.

The Humber's console has come loose, quick repairs carried out tonight now looking ok.

From the pictures that's not choppy - that's pretty flat. Some of you Solent boys are wusses!

That sald I wouldn't have made the crossing in Friday's conditions even in a bigger boat so hats off to all who did - and I'm eagerly awaiting to hear the story & see the pictures.

Eek, Met office radar looks horribly wet so hope visibility does not deteriorate too much, safe return if you're not already back.
Look for ward to some video!
