Ouch...hope it heals well.

Do we know what actually caused it - I know it was pretty bouncy on the return trip, but how did it happen? Any learnings?

It's frighteningly easy to hurt yourself in rough water if making any meaningful headway. I come back covered in lumps and bruises at the best of times. Mrs willk sees 'em and says "cor, I wish I'd done that to you!"

It's generally down to a combination of not being "ready" for a bad landing, having a poor hand/foot hold and being tired - bang - ouch.

Probably a good thing as you would only get unwelcome comments from certain people like that was irresponsible and dumb

Jeesh, yaaawn, he can cross the channel in a force 8 and arrive in destination on the button, but can't upload his footage. How did he navigate? Stars and moon?

C'mon andy, want to see that beast of a ribcraft unleash its 250 (?) ponies on some proper waves!! .....undertaken after proper risk assessment of course.

Now let me think, do I want to go out boating with a well equipped Robnobber, in a capable boat, with loads of safety equipment, and the knowledge of how to use it all, with no need to call on the help of outside rescue services unless it's a REAL Emergency............ or shall I go out boating with one of the many who think Lifejackets, Killcords, and backup VHF's are for wimps, tough one

Dories are shocking!! Old man went out more than me this year, gutted. The one trip out was a good one though! Even when I had a week off in Wales, it was storms all week so couldn't get out with the kids. Resorted to 2.5m fun on the river. Smiles per £ are excellent!! 1L per 1/2 hr rather than mile! Still a Feint hope of heading to ullswater to sink the U boat!....
