Dont worry, it won`t be a race! Just a cruise somewhere, beers and grub, and then back again. I`ve always fancied Ireland, or the Ilse a Man for an easier trip? Anybody up for that next late spring?

I would probably pick a good day and gp from the Tyne, but there must be launching facilities for smaller boats year round as I always see Dive ribs heading North on the A1 during the weekends, even the winter..

I think he is refering to the lunatic that drives the tractor and launches you into the seas, literally...

Ther's always Seahouses harbour, thats a fairly easy launch.

Also at South Sheilds (R. Tyne) by Sailing Club building. Car park at top for permit holders.

You must mean the oldish chap that does launching off craster beach with his tractor? He wouldnt let us out with our 4.2 zodiac one year. Mind it was a force 5 with 3m swells! He actually laughed at our boat!
Seahouses is open all year round, a tenner to launch with £2 per extra passenger, which is a fairly good price. We have been out in the winter, and its got a very good slipway, and you can park on the pier too. Trailers are free to park on the beach next to the slipway.
The Harbour Inn does cracking food and ales, and a real fire too!
Hope the weather holds up qcamel, not that you`ll mind in that nice shiny scorp!

Seahouses Launch
No .... I was actually referring to the really good slip at Seahouses harbour. I believe the slip barrier is locked from Oct to April ?
Don't know about the lune at Crabster but once or twice used the tractor /beach launch at Beadnell in dive club boats - not for me again !
Looks like I will have to check out with the harbour master as I will definitely be up there if they open up all year !
