It was a good day out and great to see so many Ribs together. Excellent photos Ian, good to see you again although only briefly. it looks like we avoided sunstroke by not going today. I guess there will be many still out on the water as I write. Be careful of the "ultraviolent" out there, stay
Until the next time

What a great weekend ..was good to meet everyone weather wasnt the best saturday but today more than made up for it. nice to see so many differnet ribs together hope everyone had a good time and all got home safe.
A few of us met at the gazelle last night for a few beers which lasted till 12.30 i,m sure Humber Paul and his crew must have drunk a few barrels between them over the course of the day even kerny could not stay the pace with this lot but what a way to end a great day
After a full english breakfast domino and rubber duck (dave p) set of at 10.30 this morning to go round the island stopping at Holyhead for lunch we got back to Menai Bridge at 3.00
this was our 1st time round and it wont be the last what a great runout, sun shades and factor 15 were the order of the day.
I will be working on a video over the next few days which i will post in the rib gallery

After an early start of 09:30 this morning, we met Tony T and Joe, his fellow crew member in the boat yard, after a quick sort out we launched and headed along to the Gazelle to meet with anyone elso who was wanting to come for the Sunday trip.
A phone call showed that we would be the only two boats, as the smaller boats were meeting later on at 11:30 for a smaller trip (I hope they had a good day out on the water too). Attached are a few photos of the mill pond flat water that we were blessed with (so whoever ordered the weather did a good job for Sunday )
We went anti-clockwise and had a great day stopping for lunch at holyhead for lunch for an hour, before finishing the trip.
Hopefully the videos will turn out well and il try and post some when I can.
If anyone wants a full size copy of any of my pictures let me know and il email them to you.

What a day . Cheers to all for coming, and especially TonyT Nitrix and blue thunder for helping keep an eye on others. 18 boats made it to morfa nefyn, after a long lumpy drag from the bar. Fantastic. Tonyand I, together with kerny and Dave Griffiths brought up the rear and got home safely after what was an extreme display of determination and resilience in the lumpy stuff from the latter two, once children and better halves were put on Domino. (including a 4 and 8 yr old who managed to sleep on board a 5m boat whilst being airborne every 20 secs!)
I'm still on the island so no wifi. I'll post tomorrow with a full run down and more photos.

Kerny, those West Bromwich Albion supporters looked like they had a good time. So drunk they ended up in wolves shirts!
Excellent time had by all. A thankyou to all who made it to the pub. (Again George and family showed extreme commitment in showing up at the pub and lasting until fairly late with the little ones.)

safety checks
We went to change the triggers and cans on our 2008 expiry dated jackets, but Dan decided to check the old ones and the jacket itself still worked, whilst wearing them!
kerny and tony t had come back down the Gazelle to ensure i had got on board after using the new dinghy. I had managed to sink it on friday before even setting foot in it. oops. We were waiting on the jetty in ribnet cruise t shirts and shorts and found tony et al turned up in dry suits. We decided to jacket up and stop being so optimistic.
After 200yds.... I lost my cap in to the straits! doh.
Then we met up at menai bridges and 15 boats shown in the photos turned up including Nitrox with the Rib International journalist on.
After everyone making it past platters rock and swelly rock between the bridges, I think a few people relaxed and opened them up a bit. Last shot is coming past Port Dinorwic up the straits.

After picking up a black osprey with evinrude 250hp waiting like the SAS, we went over the bar with over 3m of water below us, saving a good 10-15 mins.
As it started to get lumpy, i don't really have photos, (wife's camera, not allowed out when wet! broken one already). Tony i am sure has a load.
With a stop after 15 mins and then 25 mins, to check everyone was happy with the 12 mile drag to Morfa Nefyn, Paul in his blue humber caught us up and everyone pushed on. Nitrox could have had a game of marbles on the deck despite the sea, others however struggled to keep the boat in the water! Spending a large part of the time bracing for the landing. We now had 16 boats.
A great way to push the limits for some people, with so many boats, all were looked after. Tony and I made sure everyone made it in including George and his family whose 4 yr old fell asleep on the way!! By 2.30 ish we were there, having by then been caught up by 2 aircraft ribs from conwy, who even had a labrador on board!
We were now 18!
After some good chat, ale, crisps and coffe, the tide turned and many started drying out. Time to get off.
All basically cracked on at their own speed and with kernys wife, Georges wife and two children on Domino (Those wolfrunians are charmers!) We headed back in to it. Kerny (steve) and george did well to push on all the way back to the straits with a couple of stops for dutch courage! Again, camera not allowed out, but Tony had at least 3 cameras on the go to capture the fun! The 4 of us made it back around the bar this time and in to flat calm water with the sun chasing us in. This time Georges boy was by now out of it on Domino. I blame the dulcet midland tones personally!
We then headed back through the bridges on flat water after perking the children, and steve/george up, with crisps mars bars and also stella respectively!
A great day out and then the evening in the Gazelle.

day prior, to the ship inn, red wharf bay
After launching friday, we tested the boat with a sun run to red wharf, 30 mile round trip, with our labrador on board for the first time, loved it. The ship inn is an excellent place to go to. You can only be in the bay for the hour so of high tide, but it's perfectly sheltered.
We found we stunk of fuel on the way and we had some on the floor. The two breather pipes had broken on their join to the T piece which led to the console vent. With a new T piece, no fuel or smell, all good.
After a couple of buds and a hello to Yoyo et al, we headed back, happy that the boat was ready.
