Think that sounds like a plan, Gazelle to round the day off while on the boats and the Liverpool Arms to round the night off lol.

Mind I would say that as we are booked in a B&B about 2 mins up the road from the Liverpool

Happy to go with the flow either way, just hope the weather is good.

Tides height looks like about 6.06m at Menai Bridge.

High tide low tide for:
Menai 1526 2210
Caernarfon 1425 2131
port dinorwic 1459 2148
Conwy crew 1530 2238 (marina access 3 hours each side i believe)

communication Tony T, co cruise organiser, any ideas on a channel etc??

General plan at moment is to launch and meet on the water between 12.30-1pm by Menai Bridge. (Grab a mooring/tie up at porth daniel dockside/raft up by the university pontoon/float about etc.)

(This gives an hour for any Conwy/Deganwy people to get across from the Marinas opening by my reckoning (GED etc??? would that work ))

Set off at say 1.30 at half tide to go through the bridges. (Any instructors or locals please lead the way for the inexperienced!!! Kawasaki etc)

Then it's fully weather dependant. Basically head down towards caernarfon and pick up anyone launching between Menai and there who hasn't come up to meet at Menai. If nice and calm, we'll blast out of the straits to morfa nefyn, quick beer, then head back to the Gazelle for a finishing beer and chat/food.

If it's not looking like an easy trip on the long stretch/drag to morfa nefyn for 5m boats, we'll know at Caernarfon bar. (The day is about a meeting and a chat, not who can endure the 20 mile drag from the bar to Morfa Nefyn) So i suggest we head back in and up the sheltered straits, through the bridges, past Menai and Beaumaris life boat (perhaps a stop there at the pier) and head back towards puffin Island to see the seals, then back down to the Gazelle for a finishing beer and chat/food.

There'll be plenty of water still on the jetty at 5-6 for a Gazelle meet.

Evening Gazelle in boats for a few, then Liverpool arms from 8pm.

Sorry guy need to have a rethink about the Liverpool arms. At the moment it is closed down waiting a new landlord. I am down again teaching tomorrow so will confirm but it was closed 2 weeks ago.

Oh dear! Cheers Andy!

Looks like the Gazelle for the whole evening then. It's only a 2mile taxi ride/boat ride from Menai, it's also much much bigger, does food and is right on the waterfront. Better if there's a few if us!

Suggest channel 77
Most use 6,8 and 72 for some reason, so 77 should be 'quieter' imho
Watch it around the 'University raft' area at the mo.
There are still quite a few winterised moorings just under the water there, noticed yesterday and earlier whilst using the raft for pontoon bashing practise.
Why not use the Pier area at Menai for the gathering, there is space to moor up too, even if the Madoc is present, plus some well mantained swinging moorings in the vicinity to hang on to temporarily like!
If yer reckon HW is 15.26 at Menai (checked fer BST)? then there will be loads in the Swellies an not much going on at 13.30..If it is too snotty over the Bar and towards Porth Dinllaen.
Aber Menai could be usefull to open a few tinnies and talk Boll*cks.
If it's blowin a bit from the Westish, worst but not bad scenario could be to blast around to Moelfre and rock up in the bay there and sample some good Guiness from the Hostelry therein!
Tother place at the state of tide we are talking about that is bypassed by peeps, is Red Wharf bay and the two pubs there on the East coast of the Island.
But the Ty Coch at Porth Dinllaen and the cove is a Magic Place and deffo worth the effort and a bit of a bash/bumpy ride for those that haven't been there or ventured that far before.
That's the beauty of the Strait
There's always somewhere to play for rib nobbers

Well, just over a week to go. Dragged her out yesterday, applied the last coat of antifoul, polished the stainless and tubes and set up for towing down to the yard tomorrow.

Wonder how many will show up?
