Peninsula Rib and Sportsboat Cruise 2007
Saturday May 5th, Pwllheli – Porth Dinllaen
All participants must remember that this event is a social cruise and not a race!
We cruise together keeping other boats in visual contact. By all means go off for a blast if you want, but please keep the flotilla in sight and return to the group.
Safety boat and First Aid cover will be provided and in the event of a breakdown a tow will be organised where required. The destination for a tow will be dependant on the location at the time of breakdown.
Should any boat make the decision to turn back, they will be accompanied by a second vessel. A further safety boat will maintain position as last boat. Lifejackets must be worn and your vessel must carry a fixed or hand held VHF marine radio. Safety for all is paramount. The organisers take no responsibility for loss, damage or personal harm under any circumstances.
Ensure you have enough fuel for a 135nm trip. This will allow 1/3 extra in case it’s needed. If you cannot carry this amount of fuel, please inform the organiser who will make fuel available at Porth Dinllaen. This will be charged for. Ensure you carry plenty of drinking water, sun cream etc.
Registration for visiting boats is required by Gwynedd Council, there is then a £12 launch fee to use the public slipway at Pwllheli. You will be emailed an electronic form which can be returned by email or posted through the Harbour Masters door on the morning of the cruise. Launch early as times will be kept to.
The fuel pontoon will not be open early so if you are towing here fill up en route. If your boat is already in Pwllheli, fill up before Saturday morning. If you can print copies of all paperwork please do so and carry onboard your vessel.
Black Jack and Nimrod will be anchored just beyond Pwllheli Fairway buoy (red and white vertical stripes) so please contact one of us by radio, Ch08, or come alongside and identify your boat.
All boats taking part must reply by email with their details by return to the organiser
webmaster@llyn.info to allow efficient radio communications etc. It would also be useful to know how many people will be onboard each boat on the day. Please check all your safety equipment onboard.
On the day:
