North West Ribsters winter meeting

On Saturday 24th January 2004 the Chetwode Arms, in mid Cheshire, will be the venue for the next meeting of the North West Ribsters. This is an indoor, evening meeting and is open to all.
A few short presentations are being arranged and maybe a photo comp. so dig out your shots from this years trips. This is the time to discuss ideas for 2004, so thinking caps on!
Further details and directions will follow and an e-mail will be sent to those who have cruised with the NWR this year and those who have expressed an interest, living in the North West regions. Yes Phil, you're on the list!
Anyone else interested in receiving details of the meeting should post on this thread, PM or e-mail me and I'll add you to the list. Whitingiom and Clarky, I don't have an e-mail address for you so either watch this space or send me an e-address so I can forward the details to you, thanks.

Although I have travelling plans for January, if I'm around I'll be there.

Hi Folks

Should be fine at present, nothing in Diary.

What time will start be ?.

Also maybe we could post an agenda so that people can see whats planned to be being talked about and add anything extra.

So for starters, can we try and arrange more trips.
Last year was good, but it turned out we had bad weather the one we could have made and was away with the other.
With more trip on, even if they are informal ones i (we) stand more chance of being free to attend some.

Regards Gary

Gary, you'll receive an e-mail next week with various details.
Still finalising the presentations and photo thing but as and when confirmed these will be posted here.
We had three long distance cruises and numerous shorter ones this year. Not bad seeing the group only started up in spring 2003. 2004 is looking like a much bigger crowd from a much wider area of the country and I'm sure many more cruises/outings will be arranged.

Unless I can stay in Nottingham that weekend, I don't think I'll be at this meet I'm afraid Ian

Believe it or not, it's quicker for me to drive down to Southampton from here than it is to get to Mid-Cheshire

I'll be able to get definitive yes/no mid January I'd guess.

January stop over

Alex, and anyone else travelling such a distance, a local hotel has rooms at £15-£20 pppn bed only. As it's two minutes from my house, breakfast can be supplied here. Don't get to excited, most of you haven't tasted my cooking, and those that have, never came back! If you want this arranging let me know and I'll book the room(s) for you.

NWR meeting details

The North West RIBsters are to meet at the Chetwode Arms, Lower Whitley (A49) just 3 miles south from M56 (junction 10). A room has been booked for Saturday 24 January 2004 with a start at 7pm the evening.
Everyone is encouraged to bring along their RIB photos so we can share our memories of RIB Raids past. There may even be a 'bottle' for the acclaimed best picture! A small charge of £1 / person will be required towards room hire cost.

In order that we can prepare for the meeting I should be pleased if those who wish to attend would email January-Meet@nwribsters.co.uk Please let us know how many are to attend with you, and if you intend to bring any photos.

The Chetwode Arms is noted for some very good food and also serves 'real ale'. If you choose to eat at the Chetwode Arms I would advise you to call them on 01925 730203. For a location map visit here.

Look forward to hearing from you either way and hopefully see you on the night.

2003 CD

If you would like a CD containing photo's from the Conwy-Pwllheli-Conwy cruise, Anglesey circumnavigation and a playday in Cardigan Bay let me know and I'll make a copy for you and bring it to the meeting.
You only get it if you're there.

Sorry, won't be able to make this one due to the SE Ribster cruise in the company of Bilge Rat, Daniel, My Girls, Bern, Jason, Steve..........
Sorry you won't be joining us Ian - obviously we didn't give you sufficient notice on this occasion, after all Daniel only posted it a couple of months ago. Still, no worries, just to let you know the SERibsters will be organising another cruise on 23 May 2005 - hope to see you at that one. Obviously it's no use giving you the details of the multitude of intervening cruises we'll be organising because you'll doubtless have something more pressing to be getting on with - might I suggest reading the owner's manual for the Suzuki 250 in case you flood that one too!
