Norway - 2009 tba

Hi
I am in the early 'information collection' stages for a cruise to Norway next year.
I would welcome imput form the Norweigian Rib contingency to assist in planning etc.

If we were to start (Norweigen section) from Bergen and work southwards to say Kristiansand would we see the best there is on offer?
Are there any classic areas that we would be 'stupid' not to include?

Overall plan would be as follows

take 1 week to move boat up East coast (of UK) to Orklands and then on to Shetlands. Rest boat there, fly home.
When weather window good to fly back up and head East to Bergen for main cruise.
Main cruise Bergen to Kristiansand (10 days?) then head south via Danish coast/Holland then back across.possible further 5 days.

Any one else interested? - or joining for part of the run? you would be very welcome.
It has been suggested that my wife might like to fly to Bergen and start from there! and end at Kristiansand...

What summer month would show Norway at its best?

Paul

If you're going to Norway I would recommend stopping in Tvedestrand - we raced in the Class III 2 litre worlds there a few years ago and it is a really beautiful place, the trouble is the bars don't start warming up until after midnight!

I would recommend going in June or July.
Going south from Bergen is a good idea.
Would recommend spending a bit more time though…
The area between Bergen and Stavanger is really fantastic cruising ground, loads of secluded bays, deserted islands etc, after you pass Lindesnes it will get a bit more crowed….

If you want more dramatic and exotic scenery, go north!

Had a trip last year from Lofoten to Brønnøysund late april.

Good Stuff coming in

Guys
Some good info now coming in and being collected.
Thank you all for comments so far.
I am just now obtaining land maps so I can review place names etc.
Charts are always poor for this.

Does anyone of our Noweigen RibNet people have experience of Navionics Gold charting - is this going to be OK?
