The dates for Easdale RIB Rendezvous are published and confirmed as Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May 2013. With the RIB tourism season drawing to a close we will take a few weeks rest and then get the event organisation underway. We have a skeleton of a plan, we need to put some of the finer detail in place. We need to visit a couple of old, remote jetties, sort out timings and publication of material.
We appreciate there seems to be a number of Oban events. We welcome them all. Each has its aims and objectives. Those of the Easdale RIB Rendezvous include we welcome everyone whether your RIB is large or small. Bring the family, come on your own, stop for a dive, you don’t have to come on the proposed cruise. Just be safe and enjoy your RIB.
Easdale is the focal point with a good sheltered harbour, a couple of pubs, accommodation and the offer of local information. The date of the first Bank Holiday in May was selected as it helps the local community extend the tourist season. A date later in the year could bring accommodation and refreshment issues. Easdale’s late September event is The World Stone Skimming Championships.
The area is a massive playground for RIBs. There is space for everyone. We hope everyone enjoys their stay. If the ScotRIB event wishes to include Easdale in their itinerary it would be great to see you all. Whatever the time of the year all RIBs are welcome to pull into Easdale Harbour either for a short stop or use it as a base for a holiday.

Shaun there's always some of the locals about up and down the coast. My advice is to put a thread on before you go up and then it's current and folk can contact you. I will look out gor it and tell you if i plan on being up. Cheers

Hi Bern what one are you doing this year or are you going to try and straddle them both? ERR is on for May 4th and 5th see Tony's thread on here. I think Doug's is on about the same time.
Hope to see you again.

The Oyster is just a short walk from my house, so I'll pop in and catch up with some folks when you're over this way

Hi Mick yes it is. Its one that Doug organises for BIOAB every year but on occassions like last year some of them do join the ERR depending if the cruising areas are similar. I do think it is Doug's intention to join the ERR on the sat this year therefore it has the capacity to be quite a gathering!!

We hope to join up with Tony and the ERR on Sat or Sun
last year our intention was to leave Dunnstaffnge visit West Loch Tarbert then Port Askaig
on to Bunnahaven Distillery then Colinsay but the length of WLT was going to take too much time so we missed it out
The distillery tour takes more than an hour as time is taken getting moored but the pier and tour were very good
Port askaig for lunch but again a fair time is spent mooring etc
