Hi all...

The meeting point seems fine to me. Not sure where I will be coming from yet. It all depends on the weather. I am planning to do some boating from next Monday, 2nd August (just when the weather is set to change), so I may be out the day before too...... but if not, with the tides as they are, I will probably launch at Lymington.

Beware though.... I'm coming so expect a minimum of Force 6!

Mike C

PS.... Anyone off between 2nd to 10th August and fancy a trip? Cross channel maybe?

Sorry Roy - I've been away from home for a few days. As Aligator says, of course you are welcome - open to all!

Something we ought to think about/discuss is what everyone fancies doing about lunch. We could descend on Poole and find a nice cafe or family-friendly pub, or take food and drink with us? Anyone have a preference or a better idea?

Mike C - would love to do a cross-channel with you but can't make your dates.

'Picky nic' sounds good to me,

Poole will be busy and mooring may prove difficult for our flotilla at town quay & dolphin marina will charge around a £5per boat for short stay thats if they have room which i doubt.

Old Harry cruise

Hi louise

Not looking good for us being able to join the cruise. Our boat is still not in the water yet though they may work on it this week. Its so frustrating. I'll keep an eye on the arrangements though just in case.

Cheers
Rosie

Hi everyone.

Just thought I'd summarise details of Wednesday's cruise.

Participants:

Prime Rib II / 6.3 Humber / Mike C & Sheila
Seahawk 2 / 6+ Parker / Andre & Wiesia
Bonza 2 / 6+ Ring / Ray Bradman
Old Spice / 6+ Pacific / Pete 7
Zippy / 5.5 Zodiac / Alistair (Aligator) - meeting at Old Harry
Bob / 5.85 Ribcraft / Martin Stacey
Pendragon / 5.85 Ribcraft / Peter T (Ribald)
Kecka Rocka / 7.5 Cobra / Roy Smith & family
Loose Cannon / 6.5 Scorpion / Peter Lightfoot (non RIBnet)
Blue Ice / 7.5 Scorpion / Richard B & Louise, Rosie & Ian Warner

Departure

Meet in vicinity of Yacht Club Starting Platform, Lymington, (at the entrance to Lymington River - a hut on stilts- adjacent to no. 1 starboard channel marker) and be ready to leave at 10.30. Comms on Ch 77.

Aim to arrive at Old Harry by 12.00 to meet Alistair.

Lunch

Take own food and drink for boat picnic.

Return

Flexible but need to bear in mind Andre needs to be back at Littlehampton for 8pm high tide (so between 6pm & 10pm? Have I remembered this correctly, Andre? I assume earlier is better than later as it would be better to recover in daylight). This would mean we should be back at Lymington for around 4.30 - 5pm.

Don't forget the sun hats and sun cream! BBC weather forecast says it'll be sunny with temperatures between 17 and 24 degrees with a light (4 - 6 mph) southerly.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Louise & Richard

P.S. It would be helpful if you would let us know if you are not able to make it so we do not waste time waiting around for you! I will be PMing our mobile number to all listed participants later today.

P.P.S. It's not too late to join in! If you fancy it, just post here or turn up on the day!

Looks like a good turnout of boats Louise.

A 4:30-5 return at Lymington is good for me as I have a 3hr drive back to Bristol.

I have room for a couple of crew if anybody fancy's the trip on my rib.

Just a final rallying cry for the cruise to Old Harry and probably Lulworth tomorrow.

All details are posted above and all are welcome.

Weather forecast has deteriorated a little so may be a good idea to have waterproofs as well as sun cream, just in case!

See you tomorrow!

Guys, unfortunately due to work overload cannot make it tomorrow .
The cruise to the Baltic had been delayed and since I only returned yesterday one day in the office ie today, was not enough to clear the backlog of paperwork.

will be out for sure on saturday and will venture into the Solent.

have a nice cruise,

Sorry you can't make it (but totally understand). We might be around on Saturday but will be making our way back from Yarmouth then. Might see you then, and if not, have a good day's boating!

And apologies from me too. Having just spent a very nice 4 days in Dartmouth - (Thanks to David Hickman for lots of local knowledge) - I have decided to opt out of this one too. Not least due to my wife slipping badly on a wet pontoon at the Darthaven Marina. No broken bones but with a potential bouncy day tomorrow, it would be unwise to jar any more muscles for a few days. It will be intriguing to see which of the forecasts, (ranging from a maximum of Force 8 off Portland Bill to a maximum of Force 3 all over) will be correct!

Have a good day and I hope we can meet up, albeit briefly on Saturday. (Yes I actually have the weekend off)
