Did think on it, too expensive running round the islands and no suitable mooring near where we are staying.
Northlink are considerably cheaper so will go with them.

Hello Bruce

How are your Orkney Plans?

I'm very interested, I took my SIB across the Pentland Firth with Brian Elliot in Cyanide and Mike and Di Garside in Magellan Alpha. A very scary ride in the SIB.

If you have any places left let me know, I have very good friends on Orkney and know the area well as I used to live there.

Keith (I can also supply you with spare brackets) Hart

keith,
there are no spaces as such. We have booked the ferry and a house to stay in 15th August onwards as earlier threads. Intend to cruise islands during that week as well a a trip round Hoy and Flotta.
Anybody that wants to join in and cruise the North Isles welcome, company of more boats would be more fun that just me, the wife and the dog

Okay Bruce, I think that I'd slow you down a bit if I took my SIB...

Good luck, it is a very interesting place to take a boat.

We are now fully booked and paid, ferries and all. Is anyone else going to be around?
The intention is to explore the Northern Isles for the week with maybe one trip around Hoy is weather permits.

Got back last night having had four days out in the six days we were there. Got out to both Papa Westray and North Ronaldsay plus several more islands on the way plus a trip into Scapa Flow for a dive on the Coln.
Pics and video links to follow in the gallery once I have edited and sorted them but a taster below of Papa Holm off Papa Westray last Monday.....
We are already planning next years trip, probably in June to go round more of the islands.......

Trip to Orkney

Hi, My mate and I were just talking last week about a trip to Orkney. I would like to explore Scappa Flow a bit and interested in some of the more northern islands. Intersted to hear more.
