Pentewan and Mevagissy

Have booked into Pentewan Sands over the Whitsun week (end May) and am taking the boat down.

Anyone able to offer advice for the area -launching, mooring, tarrifs, tidal access, must see, avoids etc.

Checking the tides, it will be coming upto neaps, so low tide at lunchtime

Tim'mers.

Proper job Swifty
You could spend all week on the boat in that area and not see it all, Falmouth's Carrick roads, Fowey, Looe, Polperro etc. fancy meeting up with us Cornwall crew for a blast?

That sounds a great idea to meet up. We get in on Saturday 27th. Not sure Tracey will let me loose to play all week, but we should get 3 or 4 days out plus a few evenings and nights.

Tim'mers.

Sorry Swifty, got the wrong end of the stick here, didn't realise there was a Mevagissey in Yorkshire! if you do decide on Cornwall instead you'll need this translation of your phrases

Tis an oggie

The Duchy
not quite zackly (can also apply to people from Faversham)

Kernow, be nice to the holiday makers (some of the locals rely on them )

Swifty, you have picked a great area for boating. Plenty to do & see . Hopefully Kernow and myself will be about if you fancy a blast.

mollers and a couple fo the guys were talking about getting the sw team together, would be good to squeeze in a cruse or two and defo an evening on the beers to meet the crowd. Mollers mentioned arranging a bbq on mullonan beach, a night cruse would be good too plus some fishing as the fishing is great down there. perhaps any local cruise arranged would be good that first week or at a time when we are both down there.

personally i love the area and look forward to exploring more this year as will have the rib instead of just a sib.

kernow, not sure how busy your site is during the summer hols this year but perhaps we could arrange a cruise during the summer hols from your place!!!!! otherwise will suggest a ribnet meet in cornwall for 2007 at pentewan sands for any ribbers/campers that fancy it down there. Just an idea but wanted to mention it incase you were not sure about promoting a ribbers meet at your site.

Hugh,

Yes, I spend most of the summer on the South Cornish coast. The BBQ on the beach sounds fun.

The fishing off of Looe is generally very good. Randski makes trips out of Looe distributing "ground bait". It attracts lots of different species. Kernow does charter trips. He can carry upto 14 people on the one seat.

Do you find the fishing is better when the tide is,
Slack Alice?

If we get a decent haul I'll make some pies, I'm sure Hugh would enjoy them at the beach BBQ.
