Hi Barry

Yes got PM, no prob.

Still on for 29th, looking forward to it.
Once we get an idea what the forcast is we can decide what we fancy doing.

Maybe see if Dave (wavelength) is interested.

Today was just a general post to see if anyone fancied a play in some rough(er) stuff.

If you fancy a hour or two fun tomorrow your welcome in my RIB.

Regards Gary

HI Barry

No not a public one, their is a commercial slip for big boats but not sure if were allowed to use it. I will ask today.

Best slip is Knott End on other side of river from Marina.
Thats almost all states of tide, only issue is it carrys quite a fast current en tide is at full flow.

Drop Dave (Wavelength) a PM, he will know how many hours either side of HW, as he uses this slip a lot.

No a problem about today, see you on the 29th.

Regards Gary

Don't know what it was like up North for you today Gary, but it was surprisingly flat here considering the 9 metre swell we had yesterday, with 88mph (apparently on the local bridge) winds

We went down to St Annes hoping for some decent swell, and it had reduced to only 2 to 3 metres, all longer rollers making it quite interesting to watch tankers come in with though
Got a few pics, so will post em on the gallery later on....

Hi Alex

Yes it was not that rough up here, about 3M swell but much shorter and breaking. Ther was quite a few boats left the marina, with all but the bigger yachts turning back before the end if the channel.

Went out solo, no kids so had a bit more chace to play.

At times I was only manageing 10Kts into the waves, any more and I was airborn with a bit to big a brop into the troughs, even for me . Managed to keep very dry all thing being equal.

Once we got a following sea it was good fun doing 25-30Kts surfing down waves then breaking through quite a few white horses at the tops.

Only was out for 1.5 hours and I was knackard, my legs was gone. Its days like today that dry suits really come into their own.

Got a few looks when I get back into the marina, most people say round taking, think they thought I was mad going out in a rubber boat in that!!, they dont know what they are missing .

Regrads Gary

If you launch at knott end at any time the magic numbers for low water are 2.4 m If it drops below that the water leaves the end of the slip. Can be a bit of a b****r at high water if there is the slightest wind. We should be out 29th if its fit, probably launch around lunchtime at knott end and if it is too rough at HW we will come out at the yacht club or stanah. Pick a neap at knott end and it is never too bad.
Sorry didn't see your post about last weekend Gary- we were at the dive show, but I'm sure Nikki or Simon would have crewed for you. I'll pm our number - or its on the website anyway for future crew. Nik will be with me weekend 29th and I think Simon is working or on lifeboat training.
