Plymouth to Looe Pasty Run 2015

Following the successful run last year (at the 3rd time of trying) I'm going to suggest a slightly later date this year to pick up the better weather at the first time of trying.

The proposed date is Saturday 30th May, 1300 jump off from the Breakwater fort, Plymouth Sound for the 14nm (approx) trip over to Looe.

A 1300 start time will get us to Looe 1400 ish which is 2.5 hrs before high, loads of time to eat a pasty, grab a tea from Black dog (if he's open) and toddle back for a dropping tide recovery - perfect.

As you all know my tide planning hasn't always been the best but after checking with others I'm pretty sure the times are right for this year

The next best date is the 13th June which we will keep as a back up date - or if it goes really well an option to go to Fowey for those that fancy something longer.

We found last year his was a good "starter" cruise for some, so I'm sure you'll be most welcome.

The "normal" Ribnet cruise criteria will apply (see notes at top of section). It is not an "organised" event , everyone attends as individuals and is responsible for their own passage planning, safety, equipment & competence etc....but doing a such a run in proximity with other boats is a great way of developing experience and confidence.

Feel free to drop me a pm if you want a bit more detail of what's involved.

Plymouth to Looe Pasty Run 2015

I'm up for something but that date
Might be the date my wife is due out of hospital but keep me posted. And yes she has been in hospital for over a year in May.

Well, your priorities are clear. As ever best wishes to you and your family - can't imagine what you've had to endure the past months. I sincerely hope Mrs TurboD does come out of hospital when you expect & continues to recover.

Of course you can Mr Bunker, i will not be answering a breakdown call this time, we missed out on the fun last time.

The harbour master can go swim next time, if he comes with that attitude again

You can drive down and then i can have some fun on the way back
