Ah, but look, he's obviously been and fuelled up ready for his south coast adventure. You must have been looking in the wrong place.

Breezy here this evening, I hope it eases a bit or three.

The sea state is currently: "Slight occasionally moderate in the South". Wind 3 or 4.

So shouldn't be too uncomfortable but the weather is almost certainly rainy and will, therefore, be damp!

Wet weather gear on and I will be out to meet and greet (even in the rain, it's good to get out of the office!)

Yeah it was breezy on the way back. Wet rather than bumpy though.

All the Frenchies were complaining about it when we came in, too rough for them apparently

Obviously so. I was around at that time so it's strange I didn't see him.

It's quite funny how I can just leave the EU and turn up in France again, neither end caring a jot. I proffered my passport and to fill in customs at the harbour office but they weren't interested. Cycled halfway along to St. Aubins actually, lovely day

I wasn't hiding
Saw into the red on the fisherman's pontoon, lucky you didn't get cast off and sent down the road...

My little weather window for crossing the channel has slowly been shrinking, we'll see how things are in the morning

Currently 15kn in Jersey, 3 in Southampton. Heading north never looked so tempting

Mid Channel forecast has changed quite a bit overnight, 15-20 kts for most of today.

Tomorrow looks an awful lot better, wonder if I leave it for a day

Edit: Hmm, Channel light vessel peaked at 30 knots about an hour ago

Good call . not too much wind here now - but lots of rain... localised flooding , thunder, lightning .. all standard for an English Summers day ...

I now plan a trip out Sat afternoon & Sunday - Poole, Studland, Bournemouth way ...

Hope to catchup .

Pete

Blimey, it's really nice this side of the channel!

By all accounts it's looking like a fantastic next 2 days at least from N Brittany all the way up to the UK south coast. Possibly a bit of a breeze on sunday

The weather is now starting to clear here from the West as forecast after flash floods have washed away cars (well, a Reliant Robin!) and closed roads throughout Bournemouth and Poole. Friday and Saturday are forecast fine but a weather warning for the area of heavy thundery rain has now been posted for Sunday - when I'm meant to be manning a BBQ at an ouside concert being given by Scurvey Crew's band.
