Poole/Cowes/Solent etc wed 17/8-fri 19/8

Bit of a weather window coming up this week so I'm looking at a possible channel crossing to the general area for a nose round.

Anyone else jobless/on holiday/retired/skiving going to be around?

I could possibly be persuaded to take the day off on Thursday to take in the airshow and show you the sites PM sent.

Sure to be several of the local suspects out each day. (Saturday looks best so far, however). Fireworks on both Friday (normal Bournemouth summer) and Saturday (air show). May or may not be able to speak to 250kts owing to comms problems (!) who will doubtless be out there and he always waves nicely

The weather has changed very slightly, I may leave a bit later, maybe thursday and back saturday

Nup, got work commitments on Friday morning unfortunately and was hoping to do a quick Ay run over the weekend.

The latest plan is leave Jersey Thursday am, Alderney for lunch then cross the channel arriving Poole around 4pm ish. Have a potter around the harbour, Sandbanks etc then moor up in Parkstone for the night.

Friday am maybe out to Old Harry etc, trying to avoid the popular pastime of running aground maybe I'll just follow the big black Parker
Maybe stick my nose into Studland and harrass a few jetskiers

Friday pm - Bournemouth for the Air Show

Saturday am I'm planning to go east a bit and visit a few spots in IOW/Solent, hopefully meet up with Tim for a couple of beers and a bite to eat in East Cowes.

Saturday pm head back across the channel and stop in Alderney for the night, back to Jersey Sunday.

PM me if you want my mobile no. to meet up either on the water or ashore in the evenings, hopefully a few of us can get together for dinner one night

Errm, you might like to have a closer look at your charts. I think you'll find the IOW is to the East It could be a very long way otherwise.

I'm taking Friday off work, so hope to see you somewhere between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers in the course of the afternoon. Will be out and about Sat too.
