Post Xmas run on Tues 27th Dec.

As long as the weather isn't too bad, we'll be out on the Solent for a post Xmas run on Tues 27th Dec.
Tides are perfect for a run up Wooton Creek to the Sloop or lunch in Ventnor...

Anyone else out who wants to rendezvous for lunch is welcome to join us.

Trev

Party tonight in the Lifeboat so kipping on the big boat then Crimbo shopping with SWMBO Friday
So will just miss you but plenty of time to catch up in the New Year
Are you interested in coming on next years Solent Gathering in July .
A cruise around the Solent over a few day's and nights staying at various marinas getting drunk and having fun afloat.
Merry Christmas
Tim

Yes, pass out for the day has been approved
Will have younger son with me, so don't fancy going round to Ventnor. Wotton Creek would suit, or Cowes?

We are planning to go out from Cowes, aiming for lunch at Yarmouth.

Good to meet up with any RIBs out and about.

27th is currently looking good for a spot of Codding, so will be stocking up the freezer hopfully. If I finish early I could be tempted to thaw out by a log fire sipping my favorite ale

I'm up for this one too. Will probably be on my own since all sorts of relatives are arriving then but it will get me out of meeting and greeting!

Would prefer Ventnor to Wootton Creek (better food!) but am happy with either. Alternatively, the tides are good for Newtown Creek where the food is excellent! Could take the opportunity to call in at Yarmouth for petrol and to book the places for the Nacho Run.

Let's firm up on the destination on the 26th when the weather forecast should be pretty accurate.
Probably my 1st choice would be Wooton Creek as it's child friendly and not too far for Whisper as he'll be in his Searider - but lets see nearer the time.

No: that was Newtown Creek! (But well sort of remembered )

With the tides being as they are (time and etc ) we're not goning to be able to make Wootton Creek since we've no entry back to the marina between 4.30 (darkness) and 7.45pm (very dark and cold).

Ventnor, Yarmouth Newtown Creek and Cowes remain options (as does Ashlett Creek: tee hee for those in the know)

If we made it an early lunch and aimed to be out of the Sloop by 13.30 would that still be too late to get back to Poole by 16.30?

Hi All - wherever we decide to go, we'll be aiming to leave Southampton Drystack at about 11.00 - which means by the time we've drifted down the Itchen at 6 Kts for 25 minutes or so we'll probably get to the end of Southampton Water / the end of the Hamble at about 11.45.

We'll be on VHF 72 (monitoring 16) and mobile 07840 975807.
