Mrs M has to be somewhere else on Saturday 18. So I have to stay at home kiddie sitting. Upshot is I will not be able to get along until Sunday. Hope to see you guys then.

We hope to be up for this again this year - apart from Neil Harvey with Nos4r2 on board, and Matt h, which other boats currently intending to come along?
little j?
Hightower?
Mark 241?
Whisper (Sat)?
Ian M (Sun)?

So far the weather's looking good - but watch out for yacht's parking too close overnight!

I do believe they were attempting to produce Tinkers!

At least you didn't post pics of the topless lady from the night before

I'm not sure what rose coloured weather site you're using but the met office are currently forecasting south-westerly 23mph gusting 40mph for Saturday and describing it as: "Saturday stays blustery with further showers with more sunshine and less showers for Sunday". Sunday's wind is 15mph gusting 27mph.

.....nonetheless Mrs A and I will try to be there - although we will need to be back home for Sunday lunch.

I've been using the XCWeather forecast and for Bembridge it's still showing Saturday as mostly sunny with scattered clouds, and Sunday is wall to wall sunshine. This is down from sunny all weekend when I did the post yesterday (Tuesday).
You're right about the wind though - but fortunately the West / South-Westerly direction is perfect for the Bembridge side of the Island. An Easterly would have been much worse!
Rick and I will be out for Saturday night almost whatever the weather - if no one ends up wanting to camp in tents (rather than on their boats) then we may move the overnight location to somewhere with food available rather than a cold evening BBQ - but we'll make that call on Friday probably if we know no-one is intending to camp, or if XCWeather turns much wetter.
As a plan B - there's Rib racing off Poole on Sunday (see the Racing section) which we might try and get to - but as you have pointed out, the strong South Westerly may make Poole Bay a bit lumpy.

Well - the race is based out of Poole so using my "Whole of the World Atlas" type of location method it's close enough!

There should be at least 4 Ribs racing as far as I know - Ocean Devil, Blue Tube My Pleasure and Sea Hound (I think). If it's rough enough they may even hold their own against the faster hard hull boats!

hmmm... happy to postpone if still looking bad later.
I can no longer stay over saturday night as have to be in London Sunday morning.

Let's keep an eye out and decide what to do Friday...

Still want to get out for a while Saturday though unless it's too bad

ok, my brain says call it off and move to July, when hopefully we get the weather for bbqs and camping, so will try to find another date again.

I guess some people might be out anyway... so I see a new thread coming on for Saturday
