I think you'll find it's dominatrix in the case of the female, dominator in the case of the male.
Ohh...
Hang on...
You were talking about your boat name not what you.....
I'll get my coat.

Sounds like its set to be a great day!
I'm doing a course on the Island that weekend so I can't make it but Dave might show up! I'll put some Desperado's in the boat in Brians honour.
If there's any drinking to be done then we should be around on Saturday night though!
Harry.

What's the best place to collect people from mainland?
Was thinking the lightship, but what's parking like in Haslar marina, and can visitors get out late in evening?
Might find I can stay over this way!

Haslar marina has a pay and display visitors car park which is actually quite a reasonable price for all day. It's not gated so access is 24/7.

Matt,
Can the peeps from the car then get to somewhere Neil can pick them up.
Most places you need a key code to get into marinas.
Nick.

You just hit the Intercom and say "Visitors pontoon" or " I wanna get pissed in Mary Mouse" they open it up for you.

Camber Dock is good too if your passengers don't want to drive to Gosport. Lots of parking, and easy access.
Gunwharf's another option.

The Plan
Generally Picnic / BBQ / sporting events on the beach including Rounders ('Shooz Rules' )
If Saturday is good and all goes ahead then might go for a Round IOW blast on the Sunday for those who are still around & happy campers!
Otherwise Sunday might involve Priory Rehab (kipping on the beach)
Local campsite is Nodes Point
See recent posts for tide times and visual aids to accessing the beach.
Don't forget to check JK's RIBnet Cruising Advice.
Please post or pm any updates, good ideas or if you intend bringing a job-lot of sausages etc.
Warning : There may be dodgy mackerel, nettled Pimms etc.
Beware of yotties on the day (famille Halliday in this case!)

Hi K and P
Hopefully we will be there - keeping a careful check on the weather.
What are the campers doing - we will go with the flow and have bought a small 2 man tent especially for the occasion - £11.99 guaranteed to withstand hurricanes?
We are quite prepared to contribute to food drink etc so just let us know?Failing that we will pay our way as our space onboard is limited.
What sort of time is everyone arriving?
Still cant find anyone launching from Calshot?
regards
Martyn and Ann

Never thought of Camber dock. Would recomend for a nice place to take on passengers without the hassle of going through gates.

Thanks JK.
Had thought of those, but parking at Gunwharf is expensive and there's a show or something on so someone suggested earlier that Camber might be busy. Happy to be corrected by locals in the know though!

Hi Guys
We're down in Lymington from Sunday hiring from SolentRibCharter. Is there any way we could meet up for the round IoW trip on the sunday?
We're quite new to ribbing but have done level 2 so know a little. A chance to cruise with you guys would be great.
Let me know if we could meet you either as you pass Lymington or from Priory and how we can get in touch
Cheers Jim

Welcome to RibNet,
Yoou can normally contact people on ch 77 on these cruises, or someone planning on doing the round island might pm their mobile if they're feeling friendly (usually are).

Jim,
I must say at this time I don't think I'll be doing the round the island jaunt.
However I am planning to stay overnight, Don't know why because I hated it last year. If I remember right the weather was pretty pants last year as well.
If you get no other action for the Sunday a couple of us will be in the area of the Eastern Forts on Sunday enjoying whatever the Solent has to offer.
Nick.

And adding on from the last post.
I must admit I thought what Kathleen and Paul did last year was a bit of a copout.
They stayed in a nice Hotel in Priory Bay.
Plus marks for leaving the boat at anchor in the bay though. And plus marks for making sure the mass of rubbish got correctly disposed.
Nick.
