Hi Kathleen

Assuming all goes well this weekend when we have our 'official' handover of the boat - we will also be coming on 7th.

There will be five of us: Pat and I (Sarah), Tilly (4 yrs old), Joan and Roger.

We will probably be leaving from Northney - is anyone else leaving from there and is there a good time to leave to meet up?

Remember we are newbies.

;o)

You won't have time for boating! You'll be too busy remembering channels and prowords

Surely this is a good opportunity to use our new found knowledge - if not, you'll be around to remind us!!! So we will at least know one person at the picnic - fab.

But don't let him invite you in his tent !

I'll let Jimbo retell that story on the day. Might be worth an extra Pimms.

Hi All For info Bembridge Harbour Office Is Tel 01983872828. for moorings, Nodes Point campsite is only just up through the trees from Priory Bay, (10 mins walk) For those not wishing to moor up at Priory Bay overnight, but wish to camp out for the night, there are the sandunes just inside Bembridge Harbour, and you can moor up there on the beach, but remember Bembridge is tidal, for getting back to Priory to join in the fun and games. There are public loos just over the road opposite the Pilot Boat Inn.

Priory bay is exposed to an easterly wind, and dont forget the sandbank, if the tide is getting low, try coming in from either side, but remember the rocks at the Ryde end. I think if you look up this thread for last years event, somebody put up an aerial pic of Priory Bay. Have a good day, hoping to come join you Martin and Stephanie

Excellent advice Martin and look forward to you both and that fab lab (?) joining in on the day.

Will update list shortly!

Sarah if you don't have company on the day one of us will be very happy to go back and accompany you over. That's what these short runs are all about.

Note to mental self : add in the Church lot to the picnic e.g. Kev & Kath, check on Camilla & Paul, Andy, Steve the RIB Transformer et al.

Biggles, that extra Pimms will be ready and waiting

More details shortly

Kathleen & Paul

Unfortunatly the Nasher Clan will not be spending the night due to school event commitments on the Sunday, however we will be there during Saturday afternoon.

We would be happy to escort Sarah and her family out from Northney.
The trip down through Langstone or Chichester harbour, would add to the trip on this occasion.

We shall dig out the tide tables and add the requisite difference between Pompey and the Isle of Wight. (Tim Griffin will be impressed).

Unless anyone else does it first

Anyone? Who's swotting for Yachtmaster at the mo.?

Where's Mark Halliday when you need him. He's run aground in all the best places.

I don't know, but as Rich was badgering me about Advanced courses last weekend, and given that he has received superb tuition on tides and secondary ports from my Uncle, I think he's the man to do it!

So crack on laser, stop trying to cop out!

You poor thing. Why don't you pawn your iPaq/car/Laptop/Desktop PC, in favour of an Almanac

What's depressing is that since I stopped being a student, my taxes subsidise your over extravagant lifestyle!

I'll pull the tide times out of an Almanac at work tomorrow for you, all mine are in the classroom.

Thanks Nasher, this would be great - what time are you planning to leave Northney?

Also, we will not be staying - I've got the parents on board and they don't do 'camping' so may come back with you guys - if that is OK and we are not too slow.

Thanks again Nasher

Thanks for that.... Looking forward to it.

And Sarah G..., I'll be going from Northney too. I'm aiming to launch there on Friday. Not sure what time I’ll be leaving Saturday though. Depends what time it all happens at Priory.

I'm staying at the Travel Inn in Havent and hopefully meeting up with Andre, Weisia, Aging Youth and Frog Lover for a nosh at the Rusty Cutter on Friday night.
Kathleen, Paul – Want to join us?

Mike

Going back to the staying over and camping option, who is going for it?
We are hopefully coming over from Calshot (anyone else going from there?)
We dont mind the Noades Point option or berthing at Bembridge and camping in the sand dunes but we would prefer to be with others-different tents of course!
regards
Martyn

Brill - I'll keep an eye on the thread to see timings. We are driving down on Friday night after work - staying with the wrinklies (they know they are called that!) in Prinsted and then drive around to Northney on Sat am probably.

Sarah
