QE11 Last voyage
Anyone got the dates/times for QE2 last visit to Southampton? Worth putting on a good show from Ribnet team?

Here is the latest sailing info I have but it there may be a chance that it might change a little.
7 a.m. -- QE2 is due to arrive at Southampton's Eastern Docks.
9 a.m. to 8 p.m. -- There will be a giant video screen in Mayflower Park, playing live footage throughout the day.
1:40 p.m. -- There is a planned fly-past by an RAF Harrier, as well as a sail-past by Royal Navy ships.
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. -- The Silver Beatles will perform on the stage in Mayflower Park.
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. -- Live coverage of QE2 leaving its berth will be broadcast over the screens in Mayflower Park.
7:15 p.m. -- QE2 will leave its berth in the Eastern Docks for the final time and head to the Western Docks, where it will turn and be in held in position off Mayflower Park.
7:25 p.m. -- The Captain of QE2 will deliver a message from the ship, which will be broadcast onto the screen in Mayflower Park.
7:40 p.m. -- There will be a fireworks display to commemorate QE2's final sailing.
8 p.m. -- QE2 will sail out of Southampton.

Qe2
Wow, what a spectacular departure from Southampton today.... the fireworks were really good.. not too long...loud, noisy and just right.. I'm so glad the rain held off, and it wasn't blowing a gale.
Lots of boats out on the water... all following her back to Mayflower Park, when she slipped her mooring, then the fireworks began, then she set sail, and then of course everyone followed her down Southampton water.
What a sight it was to see her going down Southampton water, with the water hoses going, and hundreds of boats around her... that sight will live long in my memory...

Liked the pictures....
Had to laugh at one of the big passenger paying boats, who when they got within range of the QE2, started playing 'Rule Britania', and all the other traditional British songs out of the loudspeaker. Everyone on board were waving their union jack flags at the QE2.

Ya those pics were good .. I find it quite hard to catch fireworks.. let alone whilst on water .. I think its got something to do with my bad sense of timing coupled with the usual digi cam shutter delay
