This year the company celebrates 40 years of boatbuilding with an rescheduled trip to Ardbeg on Saturday 26th August. Open to Redbay craft, departing Red Bay for lunch at Ardbeg, likely stop on Rathlin on the return leg for a "refuel " and finishing back at Cushendall with drinks until silly o'clock at the boat club...
It is the responsibility of the skipper to ensure:
  1. The vessel has the correct insurance cover
  2. All crew have the proper waterproof clothing and safety gear... lifejackets to be worn at all times
  3. That kill switches are worn at all times
  4. That the vessel has sufficient fuel to complete the trip
  5. That s/he has the appropriate navigational information to complete the trip unassisted.
Redbay Boats carry no responsibility for any crew or their craft and that said responsibility falls on the owner/skipper of each vessel.

I got a nudge yesterday to remind me that Suzuki UK would be sponsoring a Barbeque at the Sailing Club in Cushendall for whoever manages to find their way back from Afternoon Tea on Rathlin...

We're aiming for a NW Donegal depart early on Saturday with the intention of sneaking up on Tom somewhere on the route north (can't say too much ) The WX has been very mixed (but overall good) so fingers crossed. We would RTB on Sunday via Malin Head.

Well it looks like thunderbirds are go! We are over in Cushendall this w/end ( visisting the mother in law ) would love to jump onto a RIB for the run! But know my back would not take the run from Rathlin to Redbay affter the wee lemonades in McCaig's bar !!!
Will hopefully make it down for a pint of the black stuff on your return.
Safe boating!
All the best Callum.

Wow! Looks amazing! Good weather too,

I'll commission a new big RedBay and secure an invite before your 50th Celebration across the Atlantic!

Collecting the tout money in a jar?

Enda O'Coineen the Transatlantic Ribber popped aboard the willkcraft at Ardbeg and measured her up for sails...

I'm not sure! Certainly more than I've ever seen times 2! I joined the pack mid-channel having departed Donegal. More boats came south from Oban and the isles.

Dave Rose was there in a Ribquest but we made him hide it round the back...

Belated thanks to Redbay Boats, Suzuki UK and Ardbeg Distillery for a great day out. I guess a nod is due to Barrus as well, considering a sh1t load of Yanmar goodies materialised in my cabin

I made the trip solo from NW Donegal - intercepting the fleet somewhere north of the traffic separation zone. A great couple of days - thanks to all who took part. I've almost recovered.....
