Return to the Scilly Isles (July)

How many people are interested in a return trip to the Isles of Scilly.

I am thinking the same format as last time but with everybody launching from Penzance (to save some $$$ on fuel)

Provisionally good dates for me are the weekend of 1st/2nd July - long range forecast is looking good - not the scorcher we had last time but 17 deg and light winds - especially for the return trip. Of course this long range forecast is notoriously unreliable so I will keep my eye on it.

A show of hands would be good - and once I get an idea of number of boats I will make enquiries about moorings and camping.

Just realised my suggested dates clash with the RIBnet cruise in north wales.

Oh well - sorry to anyone who would like to have gone to both - but you cant argue with the weather - you have to grab it when you can...

Hi Roy,We,ve really been looking forward to a return trip,
unfortunatly the kids have the Cornish Surf Life Saving championships at Harlyn bay on the Sunday 2nd so will have to miss this one.
Look forward to any other dates or daytrips.
Ps,I still might be able to arrange overnight parking(RE:Last trip posts)2 miles PZ
if you dont or cant get into heliport.
Thanks for the invite

bloody forecast is shite for the weekend of 1st/2nd now...

Force 4/5 northerlies - cloudy - 15-16 deg C

I think we will have to wait untill the weekend before we will have any real clue as to what it will really be like.

What sort of conditions are people looking for / prepared to go in ?

For me due to the crew i will be taking

Force 3 or less - Warm (16 deg C +) - Dry

Ohhh, you know me Roy. Anything less than sub-tropical and I'm back in the barn. Whatever, Sticky couldn't make that one anyway. We will return.

Roy,
We're planning on going to Pwllheli that weekend, but would be available, pretty much anytime afterwards (provided 'foreigners' are allowed in)

Due to issues of not all participants of this trip being able to join the discusions here on RIBnet - the remaining planning for the July Scillies Trip will take place here http://www.cornwall247.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6

Thanks...

That isn't strictly true is it? But good luck with the new venture!

OK yes - your right - he can join in - but only if what he says pleases you - and his post dont appear until you come on line a vet them - which could be hours or even days.

My site has had a forum for over a year but never really used So I thought it would make the perfect alternative place for the local Cornish guys and gals (and anyone else) to plan trips in the south west and take the piss out of each other.

I thought it would be an ideal setup - we can all babble away on my Cornwall 24 7 forum and keep all the background noise off of RIBnet.

My site is not boat specific - let alone RIB specific but more an exercise in freedom of speech as I have no problems with Alice's / Mollulnan's inane babble clogging up my forum as its not intended to be the great RIB reference site that RIBnet is so there's nothing to dilute.

Cheeky B*****d!! Perhaps you should moderate any worthy or informative posts Roy, and either sling them out or copy and paste them on to Ribnet.
