Reykjavik culture night August 23rd

The annual Reykjavik Culture night is about to start, last year we went to nearby "island" for BBQ before watching the fire display which is performed from one of our Coast Guard ships (see last years thread http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20994 )

We are planning similar thing but hoping for more boats to join us, weather forecast not the brightest at the moment rain but warm and very little wind.

Ingi Björn brought Cheesee back to work this morning as we are finally doing the modification needed by put on her higher transom made of stainless steel to enable fitting transom lift and putting the engine further back.

Our colleages at the workshop sent these pictures to everyone at work...... now Cheesee will be ready for the Reykjavik culture night on Sunday with brand new "racing engine"...... the greenest one available

Great day out, although started with heavy rain but evening was fantastic no rain and now wind.

We went in the morning to see the new Coast Guard museum which is on board ex Coast Guard ship Óðinn, I went there with Sveinki (on here) and his wife Kolla.

In the evening I and Jón Baldur we took Cheesee out to see the firework display on water (it was on board Coast Guard vessel Ægir and the main display was fired off from a pram)

Unfortunately not many pics taken but here are few.
