Bit choppy in the estuary !

In Le havre soaking wet, boats fuelled up ready to go in the morning, should make the Divers just in time for lunch

Same hotel as last time just off for food and dry clothes might fill you in a bit more later if I can stay awake!

Now rounding Cap la Hague. Have texted his position to TrevorG who is heading from Cherbourg to Alderney at the same time. Must be rough: he has slowed to 18kts!

Glad to hear it. Would love to nip up and join you all, but the F5-6 forecast is still looming and puts me off a tad.

Arrived back in Jersey last night around 22.00 (to find a visiting rag+stick in my berth )
Both engines and all other systems performed faultlessly, but how much fuel did I burn is the question everyone wants to know

Well Jersey-Paris-Jersey with a minor detour up the r.Ouise for repairs came to a total of 719.3nm with a running time of 47.5 hours which saw me go through 1804 litres of petrol and 33 litres of DFI oil

average 38 L/hour (misleading) or 2.5 L/nm

A few iPhone video clips for you...

Nel's got most of the footage, I've got about 20 hours worth from the fogged up A-frame cam

Fogged up, or just motion blur from the mad speeds you must have been doing?

I wasn't all that bad for most of it tbh

I've since learned that the VNF log every boat that comes through each lock and they use this info to calculate your speed and fine people

Hmmmm, wonder how you might know that . 'spose the tidal bit is still free for all though.

BTW laterooms.com wants to know your rating for the Hotel des Artistes . Tricky to find I suppose!
