I've not been able to send links for the map for some reason, pm me your email and I'll send you an invite. You might need to be signed into google to edit it though.

It has taken some doing, but I've eventually managed to find a way of getting the lat/long out of google's kml files. It is in decimal however, so might need converting before placing into a gps. Can't attach the file here, so will email to Matt and Mart first.

I saw the decimals and ran away, then can be converted though.

Homeport has decimals of a degree as an option in the settings. I guess if you set it to dd.ddd, added the waypoints then went back to dd mm.mmm should work?

I suppose we also need to know whether Google uses WGS84 or ED50 or whatever.

Seems to be on WGS84, same as google earth.
I've added a few bits for Honfleur, lock openings, bridge openings, berthing etc and found a cheap hotel that seems ok and only 50m from the marina.
And I've found a link for the map that works too:

Cool, lets keep your copy as the most up to date version.
In your notes you say we will leave Honfleur before LW, which would seem to be 09:16 GMT.

Would it be possible to make it from Cherbourg to Rouen in one day?
If there is a chance for a meeting point in Cherbourg more Rib.netters might join in? The 70nm to Le Havre Marina for a late breakfast could be done in 2-3 hours. Then straight up the river at bang on low water.
Of bother, just spotted the Witch has this thread on her screen. That's me rumbled.

Thats all a bit out of date now. I'm working on an possible itinerary at the moment, in fact I'll outline what I've got so far as I could do with some feedback and other suggestions:
ALL TIMES UTC ie +1 for BST, +2 for CET
Day 1 - Fri 22/4/11 - 45nm - 1.5hrs @ 30kts
Jersey to Alderney. Couple of reasons for not doing much today: It's my first day off work so it's my first chance to make final preparations, load the boat, check everythings working etc etc. If we did a big leg then we'll have to get up early, race down to the boat, jump in, drive off. Recipe for disaster if you're living out of the boat for a week and a half, bound to forget numerous things. Speaking for myself of course!
Leaving 11.30 ish would give us a fair tide up to the Race which would be slack around 13.00
Day 2 Sat 23/4/11 - 70nm - 2.3hrs @ 30kts
Alderney to Le Havre/Honfleur. If we leave Alderney around 08.00 then we get a reasonably docile Race & a fair tide all the way to Le Havre. We can fuel up, have a wander etc and cross the estuary to Honfleur any time before 17.00 ( The lock will open for entry at 17.00, the last opening of the bridge into the basin is 17.30).
Leaving the next day, I'm getting conflicting reports about lock openings around LW although the official website doesn't mention any problems. So LW is 08.45 on day 3, if we left at either 09.30 (preferred) or 10.30 then we should catch the rolling HW all the way to Rouen.
Here's where I'm a bit undecided. The Seine from Le Havre to Paris is a 2 day mission at least. We could spend longer but I'd rather get it done out the way and spend more time in Paris. Rouen's the obvious choice for overnighting with facilities and nightlife etc but it's well short of the half way mark (PK170-180), making day 4 an even longer slog. So do we stop at Rouen or carry on, perhaps Poses or Les Andelys?
Any other comments/suggestions so far?

That all sounds good, cant fault your reasoning.
Your right about Honfleur to Rouen, it will suck life out of the next day. Day one is an easy run, day two likewise*, to have a third day of light travel means we either wont make it to Paris at all or it will be a battle against daylight, speed limits and fuel consumption.
Lunch/fuel in Rouen perhaps?
* I say easy, were talking: Out of Braye and round The Cape, past all the shipping of Cherbourg, then into Le Havre for fuel and the intricacies of getting into Honfleur. Over a hundred miles of brain on and eyes open!

Rouen to Paris is 13.5 hours @ 10kts but if I pushed it up to 15kts this comes down to 8.6 hrs and I save 55l of fuel, I know which option I'm favouring
Worth bearing in mind whatever day we arrive in Paris, it can't be too late in the day. We'll be stop/starting a bit looking at the Eiffel Tower etc as we cruise past, we need to lock through to the Arsenal marina, get the boats sorted and hotel sorted.
Port D'ilon looks a good place to stop, plenty of facilities and shelter but at PK120 means 230km and 3 locks to cover on day3. The locks are closed at 18.00 local, I haven't calculated the eta but I reckon it would be pushing it.

Here's another possibility:
Day1
Jersey - Alderney
45nm
Day2
Alderney - Honfleur
70nm
Day3
Honfleur - Rouen
120km
Day4
Rouen - perhaps Bougival/Chatou area (PK45-50)
190km
Day5
PK50 - Paris Arsenal
50km
Day6
Ashore in Paris
Day7
Take the Canal St. Martin & Canal St. Denis back into the Seine and down to Port D'ilon (PK120)
100km
Day8
Port D'ilon - Rouen
120km
Day9
Rouen -Alderney or Cherbourg?
Day10
Back to Jersey
Day11

My Almanac, what I have here, says there is a marina just a flew K into the non-tidal Seine. Les Andelys?
