Ribraid

I have been seeing references to Ribraid in some threads. What is it, where and when?

It's an annual event held in the summer (end of July/beginning of August I think) in which a load of RIBs (30 - 50ish?) cruise from Donaghadee (N. Ireland) to Portpatrick (Scotland). Those who have attended say it is a great event. The 2004 website is here . HTH.

I've never looked..........

..........at that site before. It's quite good. Would love to get something similar organised from England to Ireland (and back).

Ribraid

For last years pics see the various links on this page

http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread....t=ribraid+2004

Its getting bigger we have done two so far, 54 boats on our first one, and 74 last year.Well organised event, lots of accodomation in Bangor, trailer parking, great food ,pubs, friendly people and of course there are the ribs. The main event involves a run from Bangor Marina, to Donaghadee harbour, and approx 18/19 miles across the Northern channel to Portpatrick, in Scotland, returning to Donaghadee that evening. The entry fee in no way is reflective of what you recieve as an entrant, caps shirts , marina berthing, trailer storage, food and sundries, its well worth a look this year, the event 2003 featured a three page article in Rib International, so start phoning the Northern Ireland tourist board and Bangor tourist info now, they will put you onto recommended b/bs hotels etc.
