Rather than ploughing though all the pages of posts, is there a plan?
Meet here? Launch here? Etc?
The Evinrude isn't the most frugal - so can see this becoming expensive.

Just read the opening post or my signature.
A 6m with a 175 etec will use between 1.2-1.6L per mile roughly. It is about 80 mile round, so you can do the math. Take some passengers and split the cost!
High tide Menai is around 1pm BST. Its a big 7.8 so it'll be fun and its best to run with it clockwise. I will head through the bridges at just before 1/2 Water, 9.30 am. Will pass Caernarfon Ty Coch where all the dry suit brigade launch at Chris's slip with his tractor (10 ish) and then head round for picnic lunch in Holyhead marina hopefully. Onwards then right round for a charge up the Strait for a beer or two at the Gazelle around 3pm.
There's a meal in Mr Fu's chinese in the evening in Caernarfon, money needs to go to Chris Ty Calch

how much do you carry? I p155 it round on 180l with twin 115s & some leftover. Your 175 should do it on 100l easy.

Yeah I carry 150, and a small spare can, but would rather be safe than sorry, and keep them topped up if we were stopping for lunch.
I will rig up a 25ltr spare.

Agreed. From Bangor you could travel 50 -60 miles round the island, then find its too rough on the NE side and have to head back around. That would be 100 -120 miles and likely through some rougher weather using potentially 2L per mile in some parts. I like to take 190L to be safe. But that's just me, it does add a lot of weight though!!!

Well I will launch at Beaumaris (like normal) and I have done Beaumaris to Rhosneigr and used about 80l-90l, 4 up and mostly at WOT, and lots of turning around to go back and meet a slower RIB that was out with us.
I dont remember the mileage but i am sure it did work out at about 1 - 2 miles a ltr.
For this trip will be only 2 up, 150ltr internal tank, 25ltr & 15ltr backup.

It's about 60nm round trip ish. I used about 100l last time. We did the Dun Loaghaire cruise on about 140l. Depending on how much dicking around we do on the way. I probably blew more fuel in the last 1/2 hour in the straight on our way back to Ty Calch last year, than the rest of the trip. Good fun though, I just about heard some yottie shouting WAKE! WAKE! as we passed through the low speed zone (at low speed I may add ) before we let rip just after the buoy. That's the problem (for some)with planing hulls, they throw a steeper wake at low speed than at planing speed.
