Okay slight change in the weather as the day looms, but plenty of time to change again

Ouch. What if I say I'm not coming, then at the last minute change my mind. It might just catch the weather off guard.......
As long as it stays northerly!

Excellent news!! It'll be fine. Though don't expect mr Caton to share any jelly babies!
Even in a Northerly force 7/8 we can have a run up the strait itself and one sheltered side of the island. The beauty of these waters, always somewhere to play away from the wind. Though a Force 4/5 will be fine anyway.

usually the legs so they can't run away, but sometimes the heads so they can't fight back

Xc weather
System is moving south during the day, just to the west of the island. It goes from 30 mph wind down to 14 by 6-7pm and from cloudy to sun. It's only got to be ahead of the predictions by a few hours, or be a few mile to the west and it'll be glorious!
(Pray)

Yes, hoping for fair wind at 6am to get off the beach on Saturday. Took rib up to its summer home on the Island today. Fog there today but Colwyn bay bathes in sunshine. Nuts!

Launching arrangements.
Sorry its a long one guys, but best we all know what we're doing! :
Looks like we're going to be launching about 20 ribs from here on Saturday, 10 of which will be stored here from Friday night. High water at Ty Calch is approx. 11.40am but as its a spring tide (31.7ft) it will be flooding the beach and launch area fast. Overnight Ribs will be lined up on the beach as soon as we open up, and so as not to clog up the relatively small car park / setting down area we have, the ribs arriving on the morning will also be quickly transferred by Tractor onto beach area for crews to make ready. 'Colin' will be directing and assisting cars and we ask if you and your crews are travelling in separate vehicles to park non tow vehicles in the recreation area car park or picnic area as we will need to separate an area of the car park for setting down the trailers, so things are going to be tight.
We will need to start launching by 8.30am at the latest to ensure we can get everyone in on time, and trailers stored before beach completely floods! (note to Hp, can you pick a neap tide next time!)
Just by chance encounter I met a professional photographer tonight (in the local Takeaway!) who is going to be on site (and hopefully a bit on the water) so should have some good photos.
I'm covering his fee, but thought if the photo Cd's he's going to supply are any good we could perhaps sell them for a few quid to put towards the Lifeboat?? (see what there like first though!)
Ribs travelling down on Friday if you can drop us a text / call when your getting of the A55, I'll know your half an hour away and be ready for you.
I know this is going to an excellent weekend and can't wait to get started ( and finished for that matter!)
Well done everyone, see you all at the weekend, the Sunshines on back order, but been told should be here for Saturday.....
Chris.

Good work Chris! (TT mentioned the tides, sorry! Will plan next year)
For those launching Holyhead (am) bull bay, Beaumaris or Menai I'll be heading through suspension bridge at 1/2 water, 9.30 am. High tide here is 12.30. We should be at Ty Calch/Caernarvon at 10.
Chris has 1.5hrs to launch 20 boats! 4.5mins per boat!! So he'll have them in the water ready for our arrival!
At this point we may have to chill and mill about, say hi and take some photos, until all boats are in. Then we head off to Holyhead. TT in Domino (black and white) with me (yellow humber) or ahead of us Deano in Rocknrolla (big black osprey) amongst others will know how to enter past the ferries and where to berth up there.
(If you don't know the way in, follow someone who does)
See you sat people! Here's to 2013 Round Anglesey Rib Rally!
