Sorry that I won't be there, we've decided to completely rebuild our 545 so that we have a boat to tow about for these type of trips. Hoping to be back on the water at the end of this month?
Well done everyone, amazing support as always and well done to Pow2gran who is doing and amazing job of organising this
I'll keep watching this thread and looking forward to seeing all the photos
Have a fantastic time, Alex

Sorry but it is Saturday that we are planning to do the trip. Hope you can still make it and are not too jet lagged.

Gareth
It is the Saturday that we plan to go around. Hopefully you can get time to run with us. Just work a few hours over in the week that should sort it! Any way would be good to see you and Zoey in the evening.
A BIG THANKS for your donation to the Just Giving web page.

Nick, I have heavy work commitments at the moment and will make a rain check on the day as to whether or not I am doing this event on the actual day (so don't wait for me if I am not around)
However we are in the area and will be definitely making the night do

Hello all
We intend popping out and joining you at North Stack and trundling to Brickworks for lunch.
Wedding previous evening precludes the early start in getting round to the Straits from Sandy Beach, Holyhead.
Fingers crossed for light winds....

Just a reminder this was the plan for the day. Tony T or Rocky will be in the lead but possibly Richard in his Osprey or even Tim with Black Boss. However my intention is to treat it as a cruise and will keep to the plan as close as possible. Any suggestion for which channel to keep in touch? Channel 8
High Water Belan Pt on 14 May is 05.00 and 17.00
Low Water Belan Pt on 14 May is 11.30
Tides are neaps
The intention is to travel clockwise with the flood tide
Time From/To Heading Distance nm Tide kts Comments
10.00 Ty Calch Bouys 5.0 +0.5 Keep to the channel bouys
10.15 Llanddwyn 313o 13.5 slack
11.15 Penrhyn Mawr 353 o 1.4 slack
11.25 South Stack 32o 1.3 +1.0
11.35 North Stack 36o 7.4 slack Pick up the contingent from Holyhead
12.00 West Mouse 76o 4.5 +1.0
12.20 Middle Mouse 123o 1.8 +0.8
12.30 Porth Wen Stop at the Brickworks for Lunch. This is halfway round and around 35nm
13.15 Porth Wen 97 o 2.2 +0.8
13.25 East Mouse 97 o 1.9 +1.3
13.35 Point Lynas 140 o 2.5 +1.2
13.45 Ynys Dulas 154o 1.8 +1.2
13.55 Ynys Molfre 113o 7.0 +1.7
14.25 Puffin 180o 0.7 +1.1 Passing between Penmon point and Puffin
14.30 Green B1 209o 0.5 +0.8
14.35 Green B2 224o 1.6 +1.3
14.45 Red B8 193o 0.7 +1.3
14.50 Green B5 241o 0.5 +0.6
14.52 Red B12 211o 0.5 +0.6
14.55 Green B7 243o 1.0 +0.6
15.00 Gazelle Stop for a pint. This is 21nm from Porth Wen giving a total of 56nm
It is another 10nm back to Ty Calch through the Straits which can take as little or a long as you like. If you are unfamiliar with the Swellies then follow someone who is more familiar, it is reasonably straightforward.
Recover between 16.00 and 17.00.

Not me this time Chris I have my other half aboard it's her 1st trip out in 12 months and only 3months since her op so I will be taking it easy with her for a while ... Unless the weather turns for the worse in that case I will have a sad face and leave her ashore

I 'thought' I did well last time. When we arrived back at Chris's as they winched us onto the trailer we got told we were the first boat back - although it wasn't a race we had a little smile...
When we got into Chris yard we spotted Rocky just clipping the last strap of his cover down - and he had flushed and washed the boat down already!

Ha! I recall cutting across to Moelfre from puffin and watched all the boats go inshore. We lost sight of most but as we approached Point Lynas just saw Rocky nose round with the Stingher! Those two were on a mission that day in v rough seas.
We then ran alongside you round to Holyhead where we parted company and waited for the others to catch up and had a beer.
There's a good few bigger boats this year.
Though Rocky et al will be left for dead if Guddyup turns up and goes to even half throttle!!!

If this forecast comes in and we keep the light winds is anyone going via The Skerries on the run up? I don't want to mess up the plans - but i'm tempted if its light.
