You can launch at Knott- End,Across the river from Fleetwood ,good slip and parking, just watch the tide-run and don't block the ferry access, you can launch
approx 1.5 hrs either side of high water. The run to Piel is about 14 miles
pick up a mooring and wait for the little ferry man ,give him a wave and he will
pick you up he makes the trip every 45mins or so in the summer.or you can hang off the jetty using a t-bar.Can be tricky in big tides.Great pub and grub
We saw approx 50 young seals on the end of Walney today, great sight .We are members of a sailing club further up river so we launch there but launching is
strictly for members

Knott end slip
You can launch at knott end slip for three hours either side of hightide but as mike said it does run fast and it a shallow slope but it's a big slipway with ample parking but it's a great on piel island if you launch on a neap tide you could do a full day morning launch and night return!

Opps - Sorry HP! If a mod can delete the random chat I am happy with keeping this thread on subject.
I just wanted to check something about this trip, I see the t shirts are now up for sale, have I missed any other ways we are supporting Macmillan with this trip.
