Round anglesey - Sunday 27 April 2008

I've never done this before but has anyone any plans to do it over a day or two over the spring or summer?

No dates in mind, but open to suggestions as to the best way to do it with tides...

Should it be done in 1 day or do it over 2 days and stay over a night and beach the RIBs overnight on a sandy beach on a low tide.

Was thinking of starting from Beaumaris, head off round to Trearddur Bay, stay over night there and then continue the next day...... something along those lines....

?????

What about Sunday 27th April ?????

Menai Bridge Slip is a good slipway and all state of tide with parking at Port Daniel Boat Yard.

I would suggest 10.00 but dont want to hijack Stuarts Thread.

May be we could set a World Record for more than 2 RIBs going round Anglesey in under 3 weeks.

10.00 27th April it is then, clock wise.

Holyhead Marina for lunch (and refuel for some)

15.00ish to recover

Fuel: Depends on how much your boat uses. Ill be taking 185 litres but intend to use about 90litres with a 135 Optimax cruisng at 20 - 25 Knots.

Wouldnt be worth going if the forecast is more than Force 4.

Jono (not cruise organiser just making a few decisions)

Sounds like a plan. I'll be taking a 90 Evinrude E-tec round. Not too sure on fuel economy yet as only just got the RIB. Have a 85 l tank.... Im guessing it may just get me all the way round but will obviously take some spare! ... any thoughts on fuel economy for that..? Its on a Zodiac Pro Open 550.

3 of the Ribs are from North Staffs.

What time is everyone leaving? Our rib is already on the Straits by Britainia bridge so we will launch and meet you by Menai slip (or moor by Porth Daniel).

I'd love to join you guys, but it'll be my same problem of not being able to keep up, carry enough fuel, or handle any really rough stuff.

Anyone need any crew and a fuel contribution?
