Do you have a reason for the day stopover in Glasson??? To say there is nothing there is an understatement and access up the R Lune is torturous via a shifting channel. Gates only open for 3/4 hour before HW to HW.
Instead of going up into morecambe bay I would, unless of course I had a reason to go to Glasson, go straight across, past St Bees and into Whitehaven. Nice marina, great staff and right in the town centre with an excellent Chinese restaurant just over the road. Plus the access is considerably longer than Glasson.

Hi Thanks for all the tips.
The Round Britain is now underway see our blog Take Two Ribs
Only made it to weymouth from Southampton today but it was quite rough.

Glasson yes its not our first choice but is very close to a friend who's having a big party if we get the timing right.
Weather is not looking good for the next week, but we live in hope!

Thursday was quite a rough day and it turns out that the GPS connector had fallen out. I fixed it this morning when we pulled into Exmouth so now it is up and working. Got to Plymouth tonight mist was very heavy. So the AIS is working now, but have not got the web link working yet. So do use Live Ships Map - AIS - Vessel Traffic and Positions and search for vessels - itinaries
and use the MMSI number 235087776

Forecast is not looking good till Wed next week, so I dont think we will be able to get round lands end safely. If it doesnt brighten up, we will only make very modest progress over the next two days and the end moored up for a further couple of days. So there will be some catching up to do at the end of next week

You can also use a link like the one I posted a while back for you, no need to search and your most recent track is shown. Just click on the Last Position link on the left of the page:

Following with great interest - one day I would like to do the same

The video footage filming the other boat in rough conditons showed a lot more than the footage filmed directly ahead I would just like my daily evening entertainment improved please whilst I am sitting in my nice dry warm study Perhaps a few jumping fish might be nice or even a mermaid or two - could that be arranged!! I'll shut the door behind me safe journey

RIBase
Send a message via Skype™ to Festinghouse
are you going around anglesey or cutting through menai? very scenic around north and south stack, but then its well worth pulling into "porth wen" on the north coast of anglesey - this is the location of the ruined brickworks. if you choose not to then you can take a look at it here

Hi everyone, not quite sure what has happened to our planned Indian Summer. Seems like there are more Gales due in so we have changed the route a bit sadly missing out Peel & N Ireland but we are now in Whitehaven, heading for Aran today, then Islay (via Crinan canal if it is blowing hard.

Thanks for all the support and keeping following the blog
