Round Denmark 2016

The "Round Something" group has decided to go a bit further afield this year.
2013 was the infamous Round Ireland (not) Race where most of us got to know each other.
2014 was Round "England" - ie Southampton - Scotland (via the Scilles and the East coast of Ireland), through the Caledonian Canal, back down the East Coast and back to Southampton.
2015 was Round Scotland - Largs - Round the top of Scotland and back through the Caledonian Canal and back down to Largs.

This year we're attempting Round Denmark - starting from the Solent.
Plan "A" is to leave next Thursday (23rd June), probably overnighting at Ramsgate, Ijmuiden, and maybe Norden before meeting with a few more ribs in Cuxhaven where we start the proper Round Denmark bit on Monday 27th June.

Currently we've two 27' hardhull boats (Finn and Watershed II) and Black Adder (8.9m Shearwater Cabin Rib) starting in Southampton, and Kalish (6.3m Humber Ocean Pro) and Black Hawk (7.2m Osprey Vipermax) starting from Cuxhaven.

In theory we'll be back in Southampton around 9th to 13th July - depending on weather and the normal boating variables that will no doubt occur!

I'll try and update this as we go along, but I've no idea what data / wifi access we'll get on the way round. In theory you can track our progress on AIS . This might link to Black Adder.

Will he keep up with the others at cruising speed?

Great choice though for that hull. ;-) "Fits the boat well".

Caveat: I am in no way implying that other sizes and makes available wouldn't fit well too- LOL

Trevor, in 2004 three of us took the Parker 900 Baltic back from the UK to Gdynia Poland by sea. The route took us just about round Denmark. we took the short cut. I have just looked at some of the posts and for sure you will find some useful information there.

It was interesting to read these posts again.
