Sorry for those that couldn't make it (Oscarguitar who met us back at the marina was particularly gutted!) but for those that did, it was and excellent trip.
Leaving Poole just after 9.30 having had time to fuel, the sea was flat with visibility around five miles and a warm hazy sun trying to burn the mist off.
We met Invigor8 at Christchurch entrance after a quick call on the radio at 10.05 (ten minutes early) and headed towards Lymington where we arrived at the start of the channel at 10.30 just as Ian M came on the radio to say that he was already over on the Yarmouth side waiting for us! We met midway and hung around a short while for Nathan K and Brainz. Folowing a text message rom Nathan K to say that he was running late, we told him to catch us up and headed to Cowes so as not to miss the RV with the Southampton lot. We got to Cowes about 10.55 and whilst waiting for the Southampton lot we were joined by Brainz and at least one other boat (it was getting rather hard to keep track by this point!). Eventually, nine boats headed from Cowes towards Ventnor.
Here are some pictures of some of them.

We met the crusie coming around The Needles and I captured a few shots for you. What a lovely day, we also had some great clients on two ribs

I'll leave others to post pictures of the scenery (cliffs, the Needles etc) and I look forward to the video footage: enough seemed to be being taken!
I'll leave you with one last photo of Whisper nearly taking a dunking in Ventnor Harbour:

I don't think that I can add much, it has all been said. Flat calm, nothing to test boat or crew, and amazing weather. When we got to Ventnor it was warm, the sun was shining, the gulls were wheeling and children were playing in the sea. A proper summers day at the sea side
Thanks for doing all the hard work of organising Trevor and Alex, as has been said doing this sort of thing in pleasant company really makes the event

Wow, they really are great photos
I've just got back in but I bet AJ might still be on the road.
Thanks to everyone for making this such a great cruise and in great company as always.
Seeing the RNLI out training as the helicopter delivered a person into the RNLI rib at speed was a treat too
We met up with Sibbo90 at Lymington after he found a new wheel and cruised back to Southampton with them and we also had a good chat with Ian from C2Ribs too.
But most of all, thanks to Trevor G for helping with the planning and and all the other advice which made this cruise so safe and enjoyable
Hi Biff, hope you're doing well, here's a few more pics for you. As you once said the kids will be swimming in Ventnor!
Vid to follow
