Round Ireland
Thinking of doing a Round Ireland early-ish next year.
A cruise that is. NOT a race.
Anybody else interested?

Baydreamer,
Staring Dublin, then going clockwise (I suspect). Taking say 6 days.
Do need info though, on petrol availability on the round island trip. Can you help?

This was the advise given to these guy's http://www.uk-challenge.co.uk/ doing the same trip last year from http://powerboat.ie/forums/ribs-irel...ity-price.html.
OK. Roughly 100 mile stops clockwise could mean these.
1) Howth or Dun Laoghaire to Waterford.
2) Waterford to Kinsale.
3) Kinsale to Cahersiveen, Co. Kerry.
4) Cahersiveen to Clifden, Co. Galway. (Quay dries)
5) Clifden to Easkey or Sligo in Co. Sligo or Killybegs in Co. Donegal.
6) From your choice of last three to Portstewart nr. Coleraine.
7) Portstewart to Carrickfergus.
8 ) Carrickfergus to Howth or Dun Laoghaire in Dublin.

Yo. Alt!!
We will be coming up past you for sure. We will probably pop in to the Aran Islands for a bit of R&R. If you flag up your contact details on bdmelliott@aol.com I'll keep them safe in case I need them. I am really after petrol availability however for my running mate(s).

Round Ireland 2009
Brian,
I am based in Cork and along with a few others are planning a Round Ireland Rally (not race) in June of next year.
It is a bit too ealry for us in February or March but if your interested you or anyone else would be welcome to join us.
We are posting on the Irish sites and Ribnet and hoping to have about 20 boats. We are planning to start and finish in Cork heading south then up the west coast over a 6 day period. Strictly fun. Fuel and Accomodation etc will be organised but depends on numbers and weather.
We have 4 boats so far but expect this to grow quickly.
Regards,
Team Pulsar

Round Ireland
Sounds like a great trip. Don't know if I can afford the time for a full round trip but would be willing to join you for a leg or two (or pint or two!) either in Donegal or Red Bay/Belfast. Would that be possible? Will you keep me informed? Any help I can give will be no problem.

No problems at all.
I'll list the ports/places of interest that we will be visiting.
This will come later when I have done the detailed planning.
Might also confer with you off-ribnet with regards to stopovers and refuelling places.

Yes, DOM@NARN,
The North of the island is a bit of a blank for me. From the Arans right up to Derry and a little way beyond.
Any help would be appreciated.
PS I know it's early days yet, but what about diesel prices at the moment, both North and in the Republic/Eire? I know they will change before we go, but an indication would be useful.

Hello Brian
Fuel prices are as follows (Apporx)
Petrol (South) £.87 but may be cheaperin the North if anyone is able to claim the VAT back.
What about the Diesel rules, I am not up to date.
Give me a call if you want and I will get you some info on how and where we can get fuel.
